99% chance it's Boozer. The timing seems right given today's news that Utah's matching on Millsap. The timing's all wrong for Odom, though, since Portland just cleared some salary space and could be Odom's ticket to a better payday.

Well, Poopsworld's twitter page says "Boozer is going to Miami"

Not that they have any credibility what so ever.

COULD PAUL BE TRADED?

New Orleans star point guard Chris Paul insisted he was serious when he said there's a chance he soon could be traded.

Paul was interviewed Thursday by Pro Basketball News, and asked about his team's financial situation. The Hornets are staring at being well over the luxury tax, and might have to dump some big contracts.

"In this league, anything can happen," said Paul, at the summer league to watch his Hornets. "I can be dealt."

Paul then was asked that surely he can't be serious he could be traded.

"It's possible," he said. "It's possible."

The Hornets made a move last February to save money by dealing center Tyson Chandler to Oklahoma City. However, the trade ended up being rescinded after health concerns surfaced regarding Chandler.

Paul is hopeful the Hornets will end up retaining their key players, but knows nothing is certain.

"Right now, it looks like the same cast," he said. "But, if something happens, it happens. ... Me and (forward James Posey say to one another that) we've got to work with what we've got and go out and play hard."

Posey hopes the Hornets won't end up again dealing Chandler.

"You never want to see it," Posey said. "But I'm a player and my job is to go out there and play hard. ... You can't control that part of it (the Hornets' money situation). You've got to control what you can."

Walker arrested at Lake Tahoe cabaret

STATELINE, Nev. -- Former NBA All-Star Antoine Walker has been arrested on criminal charges stemming from $822,500 in gambling debts in Las Vegas.
Douglas County sheriff's Sgt. Jim Halsey says Walker was arrested Thursday at a Harrah's Tahoe cabaret bar on Lake Tahoe's south shore.
Deputies were notified of his presence by an employee who had seen a television report about an arrest warrant issued for Walker two days before.
Walker is accused of three felony counts of writing bad checks. Clark County prosecutors say he failed to make good on 10 checks totaling $1 million to Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and the Red Rock Resort.
Walker has repaid $178,000 of the debts that were incurred from last July to January.
Walker was released from jail after posting $135,000 cash bail.
Anybody surprised?

Going to Harrah's when you're already wanted for bilking casinos out of 800 large? Walker must really love their stand-up comedy performances.

ESPN.com has it as breaking news that Yao decided to take the surgery route and should be out for most or all of this coming season.

How does a trade exception work?

Could we do Buck shot for Battier/TE? Throw in some cash for Buck's buyout if necessary. Help's Houston tank, make cash and fills out our swingman situation.

A trade exception can only be traded for a player up to the value of the exception, or less. It cannot be combined in anyway with any other player either being sent out or sent to a team. So a TE worth $5 million can you get a player worth up to $5 million. If that player makes $6 million, there'd be no way to get that player with the TE because you can't combine it with any additional salary.

The trade exception follows the same 125%+100k rule that all the rest of the CBA uses, so a 5 million dollar trade exception could be traded for a player earning between 3.65mill and 6.35mill a year

oops its 100% +/- 100k for traded player exception,

However, why would we need to trade Buck for a trade exception? Just trade him

Well, they (Denver) lost Dahntay Jones and picked up Arron Afflalo and Walter Sharpe from Detroit.. So two present scrub players with one having potential to be a solid contributor for a solid bench SG.. of course not as solid as Jet, but let's be real.. Jet is a starter that's just on the bench.

....haha, non-contenders. Maybe Clippers deal prelude to Mavs deal. AFter his LV showing, Minny felt comfortable enough to give Flynn the starting role.

Why would the Clippers want Craig Smith and Mark Madsen when they have big guys out the wazzoo. I mean Smith is a nice pick-up but they have Kaman, Camby, Griffin, Jordan....Skinner(??). Now Smith and Madsen...

Seems like the Clippers have 1/4 of the NBA's bigs now...
