Lakers fire Walton... Ty Lue is a top candidate to replace him.

@tomhaberstroh: The Lakers don’t have a president of basketball operations but apparently have strong preferences for head coach already if you wanted to know how much power Magic’s replacement will have

Wow, Kings quickly moving to hire Luke Walton.
Makes me feel a lot more confident about keeping Carlisle.

Kyle Lowry went 0-7 from the field tonight and finished with 0 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds in a loss to the Orlando Magic.
The $31 million he is making this season is the 10th highest annual salary in NBA history and makes him the highest paid
player ever to not score in a playoff game.

Winners and Losers: NBA Playoffs Opening Day
Well, that was unexpected. Three of the first four games of the 2019 postseason saw the underdog take a series lead.
The Nets, Magic, and Spurs all stole Game 1 from their higher-seeded counterparts. The Warriors, on the other hand, remain inevitable.

Actually 31 point lead. GSW sure knows how to choke 3 1 leads. Wish the Clippers could beat them like GSW did the Mavs in 2007.

Patrick Beverly (6'1") pestered Kevin Durant (6'9") into 9 turnovers and fouled him out of the game.

I thought that was a bullshit strategy but it has worked!
I forgot Kevin Durant also knows about choking 3 1 leads as well.

No because it makes the Rockets road easier. If Beard and Troll win a championship I may have to stop watching basketball forever. And I really don’t want to do that 😊

It's starting to look more and more of a reality. It makes me sick. I would hope Clippers pull both of those upsets.

Where was Karma when they won their recent championships though? I wouldn't say it's Karma. They just made moves that they were able to make.

It’s possible. Looney and Bell are bouncier. And Bogut does the dirty work for 15 mins a night

He can't be coached and refuses to learn how to be a champion. His out of control game is worse than ever.

Agree, plus he's a horrible closer imo. When the pressure is on, he'll make a poor decision more often than not that will cost his team a win.

I was hoping for the Thunder to somehow be a factor, but not looking good. I much rather have Westbrook win a title than Durant or Harden.

Great article on Dame leading up to the series.
"For several minutes, the Portland Trail Blazers’ star guard sat quietly on his sofa, chowing down on fried catfish, red beans and rice, and broccoli. And then suddenly, he spoke: “I’m getting rid of these mother------- tomorrow.”

Because he gets a triple double every game. Doesn’t matter that they are all empty stats. I guess that and he chose to actually stay in OKC for some reason.

In OKC, he will pretty much forever be the Big fish in a small pond. I'd say it was mostly ego. Also, maybe in the back of his mind he has noticed how Dirk has been embraced by the city of Dallas with his commitment to the Mavs and fans. That's not a bad thing in my book. He's a supremely talented individual, but I'm happy he's in OKC and not Dallas. If he continues on with OKC and ends his career there, his legacy will be that of a franchise icon. That's not a bad thing, and actually, it's pretty cool for him and the fans.
