Default Dalembert, Sixers Make No Progress

Dalembert, Sixers Make No Progress

Philadelphia Daily News - 07/22 - 7:07 AM EST

The 76ers remain in limbo with restricted free-agent center Samuel Dalembert, but it isn't because of a lack of effort.

Sixers president and general manager Billy King was in New York on Wednesday night for NBA business and also met with Dalembert's agent, Marc Cornstein.

"Nothing new to report," King responded last night in an e-mail.

Asked if the sides would meet before Monday, when Dalembert is scheduled to visit the Atlanta Hawks , King replied: "Who knows?"

According to sources, the Sixers realize that they would have to go higher than the six-year, $36 million deal that Milwaukee center Dan Gadzuric agreed to on July 12.

Posted this here instead of "Around the NBA" just to see what kind of interest you people have. Most likely he resigns with Philly or signs with Atlanta, but ugly negotiations in Philly open up a very slim possibility of a S&T somewhere. Since we know the Mavs had talks with Memphis about Bonzi, do you think there is any chance we have had discussions on Dalembert? I realize the possibilties are slim, but is he not the type of guy we should be interested in? Apparently Philly wants to give him a contract similar to what Gadzuric signed for. How much more is he worth?

The only possibility is if he gets a massive contract from atlanta and the sixers don't want to take on the contract, then they decide to match and trade him over to another team.
