I agree with Phil Jackson...Raja f'in deserved it. He's always trying to get in cheap shots and he's ususally pretty good at it. This time Kobe was a little better and Raja lost it.

Think back to the last Mavs/Suns game. Tim Thomas gave a hard foul to Dirk and while Dirk was barking at him, Raja ran over under the guise of playing peacemaker and pushed him in the chest. Of course Dirk reacted and pushed the hand away, drawing a tech and a smug grin from Bell.

No matter what you think of Kobe, Raja's a punk and he had this coming.

The Suns are ALREADY kicking the crap out of the Lakers!

The Lakers will be back, though. If Kobe has another unworldy night, that is. I could see it going either way, I guess.

The Suns play D? Is Raja playing out of his mind? I have to "watch" on cbssportsline game center so can't see actual action.

lakers' young guys are rattled.

just about every player on the Suns has been deep into the playoffs before..their experience is going to win them this game tonight.

Lakers could be down by 30 at halftime at this rate.

I'm a bit disappointed in what I've seen from him tonight. I expected much, much more. But you have to feel very defeated when you are the ONLY one on your team who is doing anything. If the Lakers had made half of the point blank shots in the lane that they missed, we'd have a ball game. Clearly, the Suns want it more and are the more talented team. Diaw and Barbosa have been phenomenal. I still hate them.

I am absolutely disgusted by Bryant this quarter. It has been a LONG time since I've seen a guy quit on this team this dramatically. Hell, I don't know if I've ever seen it. This infuriates me. I hope he dies tonight.

I'm kinda with you, except for the dying part. It's like he is deferring to his teammates so that when they lose he doesn't have to accept the blame. I can't figure it out. You would think he would put his team on his back and at least make a game of it. Especially after making the statement about Bell being a good defender, but not one that could stop him.

Right now he's the only guy on his team who is doing NOTHING.

This isn't the first time that he has shown his ass like this. He likes to use the "okay, I won't shoot at all, then...now you will see how valuable I am" card.

He is heartless, gutless, worthless, and not deserving of the logo he wears on his chest.

I know Chumdawg is one, but I also bow to anybody else who anticipated a Suns 7 game series win after Game 4. May your basketball wisdom and foresight include a Mavericks wrecking of the Spurs.

Anyways, respekt!

(Hope you guys made some munnys on the way.)

Oh, my god. Oh, my goodness. Did you just see Kobe pass to himself off the backboard.

I officially hate Kobe Bryant worse than I have ever hated any other human being in my life. He walks through almost the entire second half, because he doesn't have the balls to OWN the ass-whipping Raja Bell and Phoenix Suns are giving him, and then when he finally decides to play offense he passes the ball to himself off the backboard, down like 25.

And people thought TO was bad. Kobe Bryant is clearly the biggest cancer in all of sports. He will never be able to have any teammates who play alongside him as opposed to underneath him. I can't tell you how happy I am that his ass is getting sent home in the first round. He is the most selfish athlete I have ever seen in my life.

And this all started in Game Six. When there was still a minute left, he was pulling up from 28 feet to knock down threes. But when they were down 8 with 19 seconds left, he wanted no part of the ball. What a gutless bastard.

Kobe has been inside the arc twice since the middle of third quarter. One time was to pass it to himself off the backboard. The other time he took a couple steps in and bounced right back out. Granted, he has made some nice entry passes. But he doesn't want to go inside the arc. He certainly doesn't want to take a shot. Too much selfish pride. Afraid to miss.

I've always agreed with that statement, but then in this series, I really felt bad for always judging him. I thought, "Man, this punk actually gets it now." Guess I was wrong. He impressed me in games 1-6. Too bad he showed his true colors again tonight. I don't hate him as much as you do, Chum, but he's back on my list of players that would make me rethink being a Mavs fan should he be on the team.

I probably shouldn't say any more, because I am still fuming, but tonight he committed the worst sin imaginable: he quit on his teammates. And to insult to injury, he showed them all up in the process.

I wish Phil Jackson would have emptied the entire bench and left him out there to suffer the humiliation.

I knew the Suns would come back. The better team always wins the series. Suns are superior to the Lakers. Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown can only show up for so long.

Kobe's words were very thinly veiled in the postgame. The Suns had more "firepower," he said more than once. He's not happy with the talent around him.

He and Phil Jackson can say all they want that they needed to get other players involved if they were going to have a chance to win the game. Fact is--unless I am mistaken--that in the second half Kobe went inside the arc on offense TWICE, and one of those was just for a second before he bounced back out. That is ridiculous.

What an ass kicking by the Suns.

Why was Nash left in the game on that gimpy ankle for so long? It was clear the Lakers were not making a comback. I kept waiting for one of the Lakers players to maul him.

Phil Jackzen deserves every cut and humiliation that the rapist can heap on him. He knows the pos and still came back. To hell with both of them.

No guts and no glory. The heart and rings went to miami.

Could you imagine the sheer drama of AI playing next to Kobe? The two most selfish players in the NBA fighting for the ball.

AI is not as selfish as Kobe...and AI has led his team to the finals by himself Kobe just barely got his team in the playoff this year and last year failed to. AI had about the same if not worse talent around him thn Kobe does now.

I think its a different type of selfish...and + AI was dishin it this season while still scoring.

Interesting hypothetical, MFFL.

AXD, are you suggesting that AI only passes the ball when he wants his teammates look as good as they can possibly look, while Kobe only passes the ball when he wants to make his teammates look as BAD as they can possibly look?

Because if you are, you won't get an argument from here.

Well something like tht..because I will admitt that AI can be selfish...but i just dont see him in the same Universe as Kobe whn it comes to being selfish...its just different.

The year AI went to the Finals the East STUNK. Really stunk. Any of the top 4 Western Conference teams would have beaten the East champion. So I don't think AI really did THAT much. In contrast Kobe took a team into the playoffs in a much more competitive conference. Apples and oranges.

AI is selfish OFF the court. When he's on the court he'll pass the ball. Off the court he'll stab you in the back by belittling you to the press, etc. AI fights for his shots before the game starts. BOTH are horrible teammates.

And there is a chance that AI could go to LA. Kobe says the team needs "firepower" and Philly >might< decide to move AI this offseason.

But what could the Lakers possibly give for AI? Can they afford to part with Odom? Something tells me Walton and Turiaf ain't getting it done.

Chum, I loved your posts about Kobe, so true. I hate him with a passion. Great posting, rep for you!

That was my biggest concern. How long would Odom outplay Marion. Marion is a huslte and effort player, Lamar is not. Lamar's talent and skills are all he's got, no work ethic or heart.

Relying Kwame Browns inside game is like driving from L.A. to Vegas on bald tires. I was surprised and impressed how well he played and for how long but I'm not surprised he fell apart in Game 7. I thought people were throwing fish at Kwame the way he bobble the ball around.

My favorite teams down the drain, now it's up to my red headed, BUT LOVED, step child, Clippers to expose the Suns for what they are, a soft cupcake team. I expect Brand and Camen to dominate the paint and for Magette, Mobely and Cassell to score at will against the hapless Suns.
