I hope Phoenix keeps enough juice in the tank for Portland tomorrow night.

Phoenix gets a must win against a great Utah squad. They're still in the playoff hunt.

3 behind Dallas, 3.5 behind Portland

Phoenix can surprise you every now and again but it does go to show that Utah isn't the same team on the road. Phoenix will need to try to run Portland out of the gym or have Shaq bulldoze them.

I was actually surprised Utah kept the game so close.

Really? After all Phoenix played without Stoudemire and Barbosa, and their Diaw/Bell for Richardson trade cost them some depth and thus hurts them more as soon as an important rotation player is injured.

Considering how good the Suns have been playing without their no. 1 guy and with their new coach recently, Terry Porter's time as their head coach might have cost them their place in the playoffs.

Amundson or however you spell his name is not only a hustler but he's pesky too. Phoenix has some tough games but they're not laying down yet.

It would be nice if the Suns help us out by beating Portland.

The Mavs are not looking behind only ahead.

I would say beating the Nuggets is the biggest "must win" this season.

Wow, Dwyane Wade trips Kirk Hinrich, no foul, Kirk get techincal foul. Wade talks about it at half time and admits Kirk tripped over his foot but acknowledges how some fouls are not called.

Another interesting game tonight: Phoenix at Portland.

So... do we say "go... Phoenix?"

As much as I hate Phoenix, I probably would want them to win this game so that we can possibly, or should I say "hopefully," overtake Portland soon.

Haha! Good one.

However, since the Mavs aren't playing tonight, I am trying to keep myself busy while waiting for tomorrow's game against the Nuggets...

Yup. I shall cheer for the Suns when they are battling the playoff contenders. As long as they continue to beat the likes of SA, Houston, Utah, Denver, NO, Portland, etc, I'm fine with that.

I just am hoping that the Mavs will match every single Phoenix victory with a victory of their own

It's becoming more and more evident that Salmons could have helped us greatly. He's become Chicago's no. 1 scorer and is shooting ridiculously good. What a pity.

Oh, and "Go Suns!"

These Suns just don't give a flop anymore. They look lazy and uncoordinated out there. After that crazy Rodriguez/Fernandez sequence, you see a triple pass with all three players in the air and send the ball home. they're just playing with these suns

I believe the take-home version of "No Playoffs" for the Suns is on it's way to their practice facility.

Typical NBA officiating. The Spurs foul CP3 twice the backcourt, no call. Then CP3 hurls up a three as Gino backs off him seeing the tactic by CP3, and CP3 gets three ft's. What a joke.

They missed the call in the backcourt, but the shooting foul was clearly a foul by Ginobili and Paul just had the awareness to jack up a shot from midcourt.

Spurs didn´t deserve to win anyways. Hornets made up for all the missing guys with great energy.

Hornets came out with energy and the Spurs didn't match.

But the ref was right there and didn't call the foul on Parker when he tagged Paul in the backcourt. That was huge and then Ginobli couldn't back off Paul in time when he heaved a shot. That was the difference.

Bowen with his first DNP in what ... 8 years or something like that. He might have lost a step but a DNP? That's odd to me.

Suns are about to lose to the Queens. That will just about wrap up the 8th spot for the Mavs. Suns aren't coming back from 4 games down with only 8-9 games left.

I allways hated that aspect about basketball anyways: fouling on purpose at the end to stop the clock and/or to send a weak FT shooter to the line. It just bogs down the game and most of the time doesn´t lead to much except alot more commercials. I can´t come up with an easy solution for this though. Everything I can think of is too exploiteable.

The difference in the game where all those energy plays in the 2nd half by the Hornets. Steals that lead to fastbreaks. Blocks, team rebounds, tipped balls. Marks was a great spark even though he can´t run.

Edit: Forgot to say. Suns lose. Mavs officially claim 8th spot I guess. Nowhere to climb. Nowhere to fall.

Edit2: LonghornDub beat me to it.

I agree if the team is down by 8 or more points and there is only 20 seconds on the clock or so. But the Spurs were only down 1 with 17.9 seconds left. They trapped West near the halfcourt line but he was able to call a timeout. I think it was 14.3 seconds at that point. They "fouled" Paul with around 11-12 seconds but the refs didn't call it. He makes both and the Spurs have plenty of time for a 3 pointer. Possbily a quick two and foul again situation.

Instead they get a Ginobli foul while Paul is shooting a 3 with 7.1 seconds left. It happens a lot but not cool for a ref to decide a game like that.

Again, give credit to the Hornets for coming out with energy the Spurs didn't match.

How do you lose to the Kings when it could mean your season? Wow.

Yeah I saw the game. Actually they fouled Paul twice before the one that was called. First Parker held Pauls jersey, then he bumped him a little with the elbow, and then came the shooting foul they called.

I was more generally speaking. I don´t like that you can do it as a tactic. Of course it was totally legitimate in this game, as it basicly is in every game as long as you can do it. I just don´t like that there even is the possibility.
