Default Gerald Green Bandwagon

It's just one game but get on board while you can. There will always be time to jump off but once it gets full, you'll have to catch the Shawne Williams bandwagon.

So there is myself riding shot gun with Ric Flair doing the driving.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

As long as it's at the expense of Stack being kicked off, I'm all for it.

I've been skeptical about what Wright can bring, but I've been on this guy's bandwagon from day one.

Wright and Green need to be given patience and time to be productive players for our roster and I think both of them are very capable of doing that.

I too have been on Gerald's Green bandwagon from day 1. He can contribute and he's ready this year. This was one of the best off-season acquisitions we've had in a couple of years. This kid is for real.

I just hope Management doesn't screw up and let this kid end up on another team next year.

They won't have a choice if he plays out of his mind and demands more than the mid-level. I don't think he will but that's the gift and curse about going after young guys in free agency who haven't hit their peak yet. Like I said in another thread, i've liked Green ever since he was with the Celtics. I thought it was a great deal for the T-Wolves when they got him, Telfair and Jefferson for KG. Rockets get him then they cut him. Just never understood how a guy with that much athleticism and raw talent could get cut. You never heard anything about him in the media about being a bad apple. I didn't anyway. I like what I see in him though. Whether he'll pan out or not i'm not sure but he's on the right track. He looks hungry out there. Hopefully we see more Green and less of Wright and Stackhouse. Notably Stackhouse.

gotcha

I think there is still some room left, but it's gettin' TIGHT. Still plenty of room on "Hold out hope for Stack" bandwagon...

I don't think I've ever posted anything here that wasn't Gerald Green related.

In other words, I'm on, always have been, and always will be. I was on the Celtics GG bandwagon, the TWolves bandwagon, the Rockets bandwagon, and I'll be on this one as long as he's a Mav.

Hell, I'm already on the Garlon Green bandwagon (his younger brother).

The Mavs don't have any decent options other than to give him a look.. so, let's see what he's got. Stackhouse is old and he pretty much sucks about 67% of the time. Perhaps Green can at least provide a positive here and there..

I was at the exhibition game where he went wild and scored 29 against SAC. He was slashing to the basket and raining 3's. had a little trouble covering KMart, but who doesn't.

I haven't watched a lot of the Mavs so far this year, but I have yet to see why Stack is getting minutes more than Green. I have seen games where he seemed to fade into the woodwork, so maybe its a consistancy thing.

Green was in the last class where the NBA drafted out of high school. His classmates are college seniors now.

He could be another guy like Bass and Diop...drafted too young, stuck on the end of the bench until Donnie gave 'em a chance to produce.

He may or may not have more potential but you're overlooking the fact that Devin been a productive player on good teams. Green has to get to Devin's level before we start talking about the next level.

Not a knock on Green though. I've been intrigued with him since his Gulf Shores team came to Dallas to play Darell Arthur and S.O.C. I thought he looked like a McGrady clone and was surprised that he dropped so far in the draft.

What I didn't realize before seeing him in a Mavs uniform is how fast he is. He's probably as quick as any player in the league his height. Like Devin he just needs to learn how to harness it.

Not necessarily. Devin Harris is going to be a 15-17 point, 6-7 assist guy. That is is his max. He is already displaying it in New Jersey. And he is 25-26. It isn't like he has untapped potential.

Green at least he has a higher ceiling. And his age is deceptive. He came straight out of high school and has gotten no coaching at any level. Unlike Harris who had a year or two in college. And the Mavs have to have that. Dirk aint going to be here forever. They need a bonafide star from somewhere. Devin Harris was never going to be that. (Green may neither as well.) But the glimmer is there. With Harris there was none.

I'm not on the bandwagon YET, but a couple more performances like his last on and I'll be sold...

(I mean, even Devean George looked good for a few games when we first acquired him...)

I'm right there with ya...I knew he could jump out of the gym and blow out cupcake candles, but had no idea he would find it so easy to get past the first defender. That is the kind of player that Jason Kidd can get 3 dunks a game.

I really hope that the 100 meter dash becomes part of the way in which they score the game of basketball. Green will be a good representative.

I'm on the wagon.

Rick trusts the vets.....Wright had a bad first game, everyone including my blind grandmother knows that. Carlisle yanked him from the starting lineup in Minny, inserted Stack. Now he's plugging Green in and see how he responds. Did Wright cost us the opener? Most likely not. I think giving these guys more than 1 game to prove themselves is too little. Green showed himself and should get another bone tonight. I would hope to see Wright in there for a few minutes bumping King. Green's greatest asset is to develop his game within the context of the offense, because we know when Kidd breaks loose, Green should easily get a baskets that way, but if he can consistently find open shots within the offense, it makes the game easier for his teammates, JHo slashing, Jkidd having another target and taking another load off Dirk. Carlisle's got to be patient with these guys, he can't afford to use them when JHo has foul trouble, if they hadn't played the previous 3 weeks.

He's an able shooter, if he finds his shots within the system, then I'm on, even if he goes 2-10, 1-5, 3-11, 4-12 on consecutive nights. I'm still on Wright starting bandwagon. I think unlike Carlisle, we should be sticking with the young cats.
