@DezBryant: It would mean a lot to me if you would vote for my boy Luka Doncic for the NBA All-Star game. Here’s how you do it. Visit http://Mavs.com/allstar or just google Luka Doncic and it’ll take you there. Let’s get our boy to Charlotte. Go Mavs and go Luka!

Wow clear fan bias at work. Nothing else can explain how Lebron has more votes than Luka.

ps I still love Dez.

You can move/delete if in the wrong area...

Doncic is SECOND in the Western Conference for front court players, behind only James!

Luka actually deserves those votes though unlike Zaza. I know the Euro following has helped, but it's not like people in the states aren't voting for him. He oos and aahs in every arena he has played in.

Dirk never played much in Europe aside from the German olympic team, whereas Luka dominated Euroleague... Plus, there are way more European basketball fans now due to groundwork Dirk laid over 20 years -- Luka is building on the shoulders of giants.

By the way, Europe is not USA or China. Trust me, nobody in Europe (or in Spain) is voting to Luka. Only people from Serbia (popullation: 7 million) could vote him. There are several diferent countries in Europe. People from one country only support people from their own country. It's very difficult that people from (for example) France vote to a Slovenian guy. In Europe, we only practice chauvinism with people of our country or foreign people of our team. But, if a foreign player leaves our team, we will support him no more.

The main source of votes to Luka is coming from USA.

I agree with you about some of the cultural divides in Europe especially former Yugoslavia. But I think basketball has become much more popular and bigger that people outside of those countries are drawn to vote for someone like Luka who is very good at basketball but also very likeable. I also think that some here in the US are underestimating Lukas appeal to young fans and fans in general here.

I have been a Mavs fan since early 2000s and not a huge fan of the all star game so never really voted.

Having said that...I am Bosnian ( you know the history there) and living in the US. I am super excited about Lukas play and that he is on the Mavs. I HAVE VOTED FOR HIM AT LEAST 8 TIMES SO FAR

GOO MAVS

I mean, it's the fan vote. I've submitted a few that are DSJ, Luka, Barnes, Dirk, DJ. Just because Mavs.

Then on others voted for guys deserving of more votes + who I want on the Mavs, because Mavs. I.e. Klay Thompson, Dame, Beal, Kemba. No DBs though.

I ONLY voted for Luka for the simple reason that while I would vote for guys like AD and PG, that could give them the votes to beat Luka and guess who’s behind Luka? Those 2 guys.

So my vote is one each day for LUKA only an nobody else.

Absolutely agree. Which is why I vote for Luka/Dirk/DJ every time for the 3 front court choices. All others are guards I'd rather see than Harden, etc.

Holy cow, that a great collection of passes and hard to believe he has that many already.

Is this for real? Thank goodness I'm a Mavs fan and not a Hawks fan, because I'd probably have to just stop watching altogether.

Looks like a John Stockton highlight video... And he's only 37 games into his NBA career.

Rare to have a one of a kind player. Lebron, Harden, and Kidd...and yet he is not really close to any of them as a whole.

Of course Luka is gonna get the fan votes, he's huge in Europe... It's the Yao Ming Effect.
I think you're right. I'm from Europe, and not even a Slovenian or Spanish. Yet I've registered on this board solely because you guys have drafted Luka. I've voted for him like 4 or 5 times already.

And yet I don't think his votes are coming only from Europe. It's the perfect storm really. Europeans vote for him, Mavs fans vote for him, NBA fans who appreciate flashy plays vote for him... And let's be real, him being white on top of being a really really good player helps his chances, since the majority of NBA fans are caucasian. Maybe it's not a big factor, but probably has some effect.

Well obviously he's not getting his votes JUST from Europe (I'm seeing a ton of Doncic jerseys down here in Austin, which is Spurs country), but that Euro bump is what's putting him ahead of perennial MVP candidates such as Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis.

Don't forget, it is a low total of votes.
800.000 in 10 days?
That just takes 80.000 fans voting once a day.

Exactly. He is extremely popular due to his skill level/playing style.

It really really bugs me that our veterans don’t seem to be on the same page as Luka. They really don’t seem to enjoy his success at all. The three to end the half vs. the Celtics last night really stands out. Luka hit a crazy circus shot to get us within single digits and the end of the half and no one got hyped at all.

IMO it’s time to clean house and build around Luka. I understand they’re maybe a little annoyed about the hype but it’s pretty obvious we go as far as Luka takes us. We should be actively searching for deals to get rid of HB, Wes, and DeAndre.

I think a lot of us have observed this for a while, and it's really weird. And it's not just Luka. In the Charlotte game, Barnes has the ball and should have passed it to DSJ but just looks at him and then does another stupid ISO play.

I still don't mind Deandre because good centers are hard to come by and he really helps in the rebounding dept. Wes and Barnes need to go.

1000% agree with this...you clearly hit the nail on the head!!!

When Barnes signed that enormous contract he probably thought he'd become the alpha dog by now but that hasn't come to fruition because Luka is CLEARLY that guy.

DSJ was touted as the best PG we drafted since Kidd and was the answer to the issues we had at that position for over 5 years. He was considered our franchise PG.

I don't want to give up on DSJ but I think Barnes' enthusiasm for his current role isn't what it should be and I don't see it getting any better. Honestly I think the FO should step back and look at the situation and opportunity they just created by drafting Luka. They hit a grand slam by drafting him and they should do whatever it takes to build around him and that means getting the right pieces and attitudes to build a great chemistry.
When we draft players and acquire in FA from here on they will know this is CLEARLY Luka's team and should have the right attitudes. I think DSJ has the right attitude and I believe he will eventually be a great fit.

Mavs can fiddle around with getting to the POs every year with Luka and Barnes but they have a golden opportunity imo to build something extremely special by completely focusing and building around Luka. I don't think Barnes, Wes, DJ and some others are fully onboard with letting Luka be the alpha guy. That has to change imo for this team to move forward.

I was indeed a bit surprised/disappointed they didn't get hyped, but I think we as fans tend to over-analyze these things and read too much into them. NBA season is a grind, they're playing games every other day, and even the craziest shots become a routine for them. Not to mention that a guy like Barnes, who played with shooters like Curry and Thompson, has pretty much seen it all already.
