Default Stack + PPod for Rich Hamilton?

Detroit has self-destructed and is desperate for a young center.Would they do this? Would you do this trade?

Dallas Trade Breakdown

Outgoing

Jerry Stackhouse
6-6 SG from North Carolina
13.0 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.9 apg in 27.7 minutes

Pavel Podkolzin
7-5 from Russia (Foreign)
No games yet played in 2005/06

Incoming

Richard Hamilton
6-7 SG from Connecticut
20.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 3.4 apg in 35.3 minutes
Change in team outlook: +7.1 ppg, +0.4 rpg, and +0.5 apg.

Detroit Trade Breakdown

Outgoing

Richard Hamilton
6-7 SG from Connecticut
20.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 3.4 apg in 35.3 minutes
Incoming

Jerry Stackhouse
6-6 SG from North Carolina
13.0 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.9 apg in 27.7 minutes

Pavel Podkolzin
7-5 from Russia (Foreign)
No games yet played in 2005/06

Due to Dallas and Detroit being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Dallas and Detroit had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. TradeID: 3274132

I would do this in a heartbeat. This trade would be perfect for Dallas, and Detroit MIGHT actually do it. Great scenario.

No way detroit would trade an all star for an ineficient scorer and a project center.

There's no way detroit does this. If you throw in Harris they may consider, but still likely decline.

Maybe Mavs can get McDyess from this Pistons with this offer, but not Hamilton.

Detroit already traded Stackhouse for Rip Hamilton. PPod and Stack isn't enough.

If the Mavs offered Harris, Stack, and PPod the Pistons would almost definetly accept.

I woudn't be too sure about that. Harris still has never lived up to the potential of the 5th pick in the draft, Stack is the exact definition of inconsistent and the ONLY thing Pavel has going for him is height...nothing else.

Plus, the Pistons already lost 1/5 of their core in Wallace and they sure as hell don't want to lose their 20 PPG All-Star shooting guard as well. They also dont want two guys both at 6-3 in their backcourt. They'd be terribly undersized.

Why would Detroit want another go around with Stack?

Because they badly need a Center... they'll realize they overpaid for Nazr (good backup, bad starter), and will be around .500 or below just before the trade deadline.

Didn't Detroit already do this trade? I believe they got Rip by trading Stack.

Desperate for a young center? People are acting like that since Wallace walked, they are instantly in rebuilding mode. I think this core will be good enough to compete for a championship for around two or three more seasons.. why would they give away their most efficient player for a guy who is clearly past his prime and a project center that will never be an NBA-caliber player?

Pavel is worthless.. he's never going to be a starter or even an effectively contributing roleplayer in this league.. he's got 4th-string C written all over him, even in a league where the five-spot is becoming irrelevant.
