It's been years, but I loved mine. I also had a CJ-7 before it. I had to get rid of it when it was no longer practical as a family car. I miss the Wrangler though. Pure greatness as a vehicle. I had a hardtop with a soft top purchase later. The hard top was somewhat difficult to remove but I did it each year around summer. The soft top rules. Good luck if you get one.

The one thing I recommend is getting a slight lift and buy some decent off road tires. Be careful of the rollover effect. Otherwise a great vehicle.

I used to have one, but not a big fan of the soft top. It would always end up tearing. I do agree that you would really need a lift and some swampers. Mine had a 6' lift with 32' swampers.

Oh yeah, watch out for the clutch, mine starting falling out right before I sold it.

I liked the one i had in high school, but i only really used it for driving around town.

jeeps are not good for long drives or road trips... soft tops are LOUD on the interstate, and they have close to ZERO stoarage area... but those are the only negatives to me...

oh, and you may want to see where it falls on this list...

I've never owned a jeep, but just wanted to say

ha ha. That car ranking is funny. I can't believe the jetta beat out the cabriolet.
