There is no way that you could make that call. He could have nicked a finger while punching the ball. There is no way that an official could make that ruling upstairs. It's almost impossible to knock the ball out without touching glenn in that situation. His knee was already on the ground from falling, so any type of contact is all that it'd take for him to be down.

By nice career, you mean journeyman backup?....the 2nd for a couple of years before becoming a #3?

The Cowboys on the sidelines didn't have the benefit of multiple replays. So, it made sense to get onto the field as soon as possible. Regardless, it was 4th down..what did you want them to do? I didn't really notice them sprinting out onto the field to get the punt off.

Tim Rattay, anyone? Kyle Boller?

But anyway...I obviously took a horrendous defeat in the great Quincy Carter debate. No need to spend good money after bad.

Back on topic...what a HORRENDOUS end to the half. It is absolutely inexcusable not to at least get off a 53-yard FG attempt there. Cortez has much leg. If it's straight, it's good.

That was an absolutely pitiful end to the half.

But bless Roy Williams. And Keith Davis? He's just one of those guys who the ball always comes to.

Can Anthony Henry defend a pass, or what?

Oh, and Chaff...I can understand your placing your pre-game duties first. A game like this, you have to get in the right state of mind for.

Tonight, they've been the beneficiary of some really bad turnovers by the Saints....Plus, the Saints aren't that good to begin with. When you have a mediocre team turning the ball over repeatedly, it's likely that they're going to lose.

Boller would obviously get more of a leash than Carter. If Boller were to lose his job, it wouldn't be to a player such as Carter. It would likely be to a proven vet or a highly thought of young kid.

I was thinking the same thing. That was at least sixty yards, on a line. That was what you might call a frozen rope. As soon as it left his hand, I thought: well, that's overthrown. And then when I saw a guy there I figured it was the deep safety getting ready to intercept us. My goodness, that was a strike. Almost perfectly in stride.

Beautiful punt by McBriar...he's done that three times near the endzone tonight....one just barely rolled in and two successful punts.

Okay, they have shown that formation twice now. Once to Pierce for the first down on the game's first series. And then that failed play. This appears to be a play designed for goal-line situations.

That particular iteration didn't work very well. I'd have liked to have seen a run on 3rd-and-two there. Or at least a play with more options.

I'm with Murph. The third-down playcalling has been "a little less than perfect" tonight.
