GDT: MAVS vs SPURS
Mavs are going for that 5 spot...... but what matters is that we'r in.
I am hoping that the Spurs play at full strength tonight because it would be a really good test for the entire team.
Hopefully strong play continues from DWill and Dirk.
Mavs 98
Spurs 95
GOOO MAVS

JJB (groin) and Harris (thumb) are doubtful. Everyone else should play.

Looks like Carlisle is going to sit them for extra rest.

I'd be surprised if much of anyone of note played for the Spurs...

Just tank the game tonight and take the Thunder matchup, its a better matchup than the Clippers.
Wouldnt be surprised if the Blazers tank tonight too because they wanna slide down to #6. They also had this season troubles with the Clippers matchups.

@MFollowill: Out tonight for Mavs: Barea (groin) & Harris (thumb). For Spurs: Duncan, Parker, Manu, Leonard, Aldridge and West.

1) I've never seen Dirk or Carlisle tank a game before, so that would be a first.
2) The odds of us making it out of the 1st round are slim no matter who we draw, but getting the fifth seed could be a silver lining -- if Rick Carlisle is one of your top selling points to FAs this summer, then finishing #5 after the season we've had (DAJ/injuries) definitely can't hurt our chances of landing a quality player.

We can't have JJ strain anything. Good that he is taking it easy tonight.

IDK why we would tank....might as well go into POs on a high note and not take any chances of Memphis somehow beating GSW.
Unless there is a need to rest someone there is no reason to not try to win this one.

Spurs must really want Memphis in the POs and I don't blame them.

If the season was another week longer they wouldn't even be in the playoffs...

It's a B2B home/away game with almost no playoff implication (only their opponent is variable)

I want to see lots of J.A. tonight. I'm optimistically hoping for him to be K. Leonard esque. Maybe less outside shot with more athleticism.

It probably doesn't matter much to the Spurs but it would be wise for them to tank this game to face a depleted 1-9 (over the last ten games) team instead of facing a fairly hot 7-3 Dallas team. Memphis won't give them much resistance so SA should be able to rest some of their older players in the first round.

No matter who plays or who does not play, the Mavs end the regular season on a very high note with a win... the universe continues to conspire in favor of the Mavs with a Memphis loss, a Portland loss, and a last second basket by Mr. Nowitzki, which serves to solidify his Hall of Fame legacy... in short, the Mavs earn the Western Conference 5th spot tonight....
Mavs - 92
Xpurr - 90

@bobbykaralla: Carlisle on lineups, including Charlie V and Powell maybe playing 3 tonight: "We're full of all kinds of surprises if you haven't noticed."

Powell is fast enough to play the 3. But only on defense. We would be looking at too many missed jumpers. Though it sounds like an interesting pick and roll setup.

I'm torn on this one. Usually I want the Mavs to finish as high as possible and I couldn't even tell what is the better match-up, but after this past offseason I really don't want the Mavs to lose to the Clippers. I don't even think they're that good, but with Parsons missing, DWill still and savior JJB newly banged up,
I don't like our odds in what could lead to, even after ending the reg.season on such a high note and entering the playoffs without much expectations, a very painful firstround-exit.
Still, beating the Spurs and climbing in the standings has its merits as well...

Looking at those Xpurr starters, I would love to see these Mavs together at some point in the game:
Anderson @ the 1
Dirk @ the 2
Powell @ the 3
McGee @ the 4
Mejri @ the 5
...my (drunk) fantasy team....
