only 5 games behind SA and its over?
We're actually down 6 games since we lost the season series. The Spurs are winning games at a 77% clip...if they just win 2 out of 3 from here on out, we'd have to go 26-5....not out of the question if we're healthy, but a pretty tall order nonetheless.

Plus the Spurs usually get stronger as the season progresses....and they're the best home team in the league and the road owes them 5 games.

Of course if Duncan misses a long stretch of games, all bets are off. It would be nice to press them and see how they react.

Just got off the plane and saw the mavs took care of bidness. What a fantastic road trip. I saw the points for fin/josh...But again there was one man amoung the mavs out there last night and that was dirk.

5-15 shooting, 6-6fts, 16!!! boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks.

Where is the fat-ass barkley when something like this stares him in his gaping maw.

Can this chump/loser Barkley please get off the air? He is neither informative nor entertaining. Check out this quote from DMN:
------------------------------------------------------------------
"Charles Barkley was lounging in the TNT green room before Friday's rookie challenge and couldn't help himself. He just had to analyze the Mavericks' 119-113 win at Phoenix, which was televised by TNT on Thursday night.

"Tell [the Mavericks] not to get too excited about that," Barkley said. "All that did was show how overrated Phoenix is."

Barkley has been consistent all season in his lack of respect for the Suns."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok...the Suns are now overrated? I don't know about that. Regardless...you go into someone's building without 3 key players and come away with a victory. And we shouldn't get excited about it? What a jerk. No respect for the Suns or the Mavs.

I believe it was Doc Bio who said,

"Barkley can suck it".

Yes, he can definitely suck it.

I'm just glad he's doing it against a good opponent for a change. He's also had some good games against Seattle and the Kings.
Sort of wonder it this is why Nelson talked about a "free-swing". I sometimes think fin plays much better without pressure. I don't know if he puts it on himself and cannot deal with it or what. At the end of blowout games he hits everything for example. Against San Antonio one year when dirk was out and no-one expected anything he lights it up.

Maybe that nelson is pretty bright.

Barkley was in a win-win situation when he made the comments about Dirk earlier.

If Dirk doesn't score and the Mavs lose... Barkley can say I told ya so that he can't contrinute if he doesn't score.

If Dirk scores well and the Mavs win... Barkley can say I told ya so that he'd have to score to be effective...

If Dirk doesn't score and the Mavs win... Barkley can pass it of as Phoenix being overrated.

Like I said. Third best player. Lebron and Wade are stars in this league. Josh is right behind them. Bosh, Hinrich and Josh are all tied to me. Carmelo "Big Dog pt.2" isn't even in their league IMO.
I love josh, but i would trade him for lebron, wade, and bosh in a heartbeat....and maybe carmello if i thought about it long enough

I would too so what exactly is your point? Bosh is 6'11 and is 21 years old. Damn right i'd trade for him.
You might trade for him but it wouldn't make this team any better. Unless he allows us to move dampier. But josh is perfect right now for this team. A two-way player who can play really tough defense on the perimeter guys who really give us fits.

Where does bosh play on this team? (I'm not knocking the kid, it's just sometimes it's the mixture and not the individuals).

Also, all you DA haters, he and harris took their toll on Nash to the point he did not have much left in the 4th. You keep making him work to get the ball up the court, run him on defense and bang him when you can and he can't go the whole game. That said, Barbosa impressed me a little, they need to trust him more and rest steve as much as possible (but enough advice for the Suns).
DA is still the most accomplished pg on the team. If he could actually shoot he'd be starting.

think about it: we played the best team in the league at THEIR place with our point guard having a below average night, Dirk not scoring 20, our center out, the leading Sixth Man of the Year canidate out, and our best post player (Daniels) out. and we won. what does that say to you?

if we get to the WCF...I think we can make it out of there. I really do.
You might temper that WCF talk a little. As it stands now we would play the Spurs in the 2nd round and that will be a tough battle. The only way we could avoid the Spurs is for either the Suns or the Sonics to pass the Spurs for 1st place.

The switch to 3 divisions really screws the Mavs this year because we can do no better than the 4th seed.
F'em man. Bring the spurs on. I don't give a flip about getting to the WCF if I get a chance to play the spurs in the second. If we miss the spurs till then fine. But someone has to go through them to get the championship. Might as well be the mavs.

If Dickau could defend, he'd be starting for us.
