Sounds like the first half of the last Laker game though...playing poorly but only down by a few. I hope the Mavs kick it up a notch or this will be over before it starts.

Dirk looks like he got his "hop" back. Love the hop. Watch him... everytime he's "into" a game... he kind of hops and skips on the court like an elementary school kid.

The Mavs came out slow. They were outhustled, outrebounded, etc. They ahve come on late but they need to step it up.

Avery johnson is in to start the second...cool.

Kind of a questionable call. Close though. Finley called for a charge...yet another turnover. Mavs need to play smarter and they need to hustle.

They look bad even though it's close.

Don't really understand a couple of things:

Why Dirk on Duncan? Raef is obviously a better defender.
Why can we not defend the pick and roll against the Spurs? Until they make a jumpshot, play BEHIND the screen. Going over the top leaves duncan wide open.

Dirk's guarding him. And doing a pretty good job actually. Even though it doesn't look at it by the boxscore.

He's held his ground on several occasions. Duncan has got a couple of cheap ones on a put back and a screen roll (no rotation).
