Nash's pushing the up-tempo game. Good job. This is more like Mavericks basketball

The Mavs look like they are hustling really well. Buckner blew three shots from 2 feet...nice play by Finaly to back it. Were the Mavs moving like this in the first half? I'm guessing not since the score was 47-45 at the half. Raef looks like he is involved on every play. Nice hustle by the Mavs.

They were moving like this for the first 5 minutes or so--when they went on the 11-0 run. Then they let the Wizards slow it down. Hopefully Nellie lit a fire under them all and they keep it up.

Nash's shot's been really off.
The last time someone typed this Nash went on a run....you just did, so it stands to reason that Nash is about to go off.....and he is on a little run right now.

More than ever the Mavs need to drive the ball to the hoop in a situation like this. They are letting a much weaker team think they can play with them.

Oh man the Mavs open court transition game is a thing of beauty when it runs like that....Absolutely textbook.

They just showed a shot of AJ giving Stevie some tips on the bench. Very cute.

After 3 it's the Mavs leading 79-74. Close game like I expected. Come on Mavs...pull away early in the fourth!

NVE loses the dribble, ball bounces off his leg to Wang, who proceeds to knock down a three. Ha!

What in the hell is Najera taking that shot to end the quarter? He doesn't have that kind of range.
Great play when NVE accidentally kicked the ball to Wang who hits the shot clock beating 3 pointer.

Why did Najera have the ball 17 feet away from the basket at the end of hte 3rd? Last time I checked, he wasn't exactly the best option for creating his own shot...

Doc - you have the feeling that we're the only ones who're both watching the game and posting here? Where's the usual crowd?
Oops. I guess at least MFFL's here, too
And NYMavFan also!

I have never heard a ref admitting a mistake like that either - that makes me respect him.

MFFL- definitely. That was a rare occurrence.
DTL- day games bring out less posters.
NYMavFan- you are correct. Najera is a rebounder/hustler...not a shooting option.
That should be an intentional foul on Brown. Brown is impressing me. I hadn't seen him before...only read about him.

Dirk gets so little respect from the league refs....yet he still pounds away and takes what everyone gives him. I wonder if he is covered in ice packs after games? I really appreciate Dirk's hustle and toughness.

DTL- good point....I am sure it will change. It always seems to anyway. Do you think he is the best finisher in NBA history? He has to be close if not the best.

Seeing how everything I post here seems to reverse things a bit, I'll have to say, yes, MJ's the best finisher in NBA history.

I'm not sure why Nellie is bitching at Griffin. Griffin was on Jordan like white on rice. Jordan just made a nice shot. I mean c'mon...this is Michael Freaking Jordan already.

I have been watching. The Mavs haven't driven the ball to the hoop since their last bucket. As a result the Wizards came back. Then NVE drives to the hoop and scores and the Mavs lead again. Do you see a correlation here? Nellie drives me nuts sometimes.

Thank goodness for NVE. I am glad he has found his comfort level with the Mavs...otherwise, we would be in trouble. Think Hardaway could do the things NVE is doing? No way.

GRIFFIN! What a nice play off NVE's drive to the hoop!
Then, Griff drives again and gets fouled. It works EVERYTIME!
Keep driving that ball Mavs!

With the Wizards making so many layups, it might be time to have a Bradley sighting. That layup crap will stop.
As far as Zo goes, I hear he looks tired again. It might be best that he gets a full offseasons rest.

That is a good question. He's only got 2 fouls so it's not a foul issue.
