I misread "seeing" as "hearing. My mistake.

Still, I stand by what I said about that- if it's true- being the result of poor distribution and bureaucratic incompetence rather than the supply outweighing the demand.

It has to do with the rules each state sets for prioritization. The cdc set recommendations, but states make their own rules. The stories I’ve seen have been about New York. Apparently Cuomo wanted healthcare workers to be the absolute priority, even though more lives would be saved by vaccinating the elderly and people with conditions. In Texas the elderly and sick are on the same level as healthcare workers, so no doses have been going to waste.

Yeah, I would think you're right about the demand exceeding the supply right now. I did also see reports that in, I think it was CA, 30% of health care workers were declining to take the vaccine. That could account to some extent for some of the vaccine not getting used yet.

I'm leaving the house in a few minutes for my appointment to get my first dose of what I think is the Moderna vaccine.
