My money is on the knicks. Just think, two of the best players at their positions in their own minds.

No he won't.
And for what it's worth I find it hard to bet against Philly in the Walker sweepstakes (if you can call it that with a straight face) if Obie's still there.

RE:About Walker, funny info....
He'll get atleast the mid level. I think he'd flourish for a contender in a 6th man role or a team that doesn't have a power foward. He's not the main guy though. He'd play alot better complimenting someone. I'd definately take Walker back if we didn't have Dirk on our team. For Walker i'd love to see him play alongside AI just to give AI that 2nd scorer he most desperately needs. Problem is i'm not sure how far the 6ers would go with their two leading scorers shooting 40 percent from the field. Hopefully Iguodala would have flourished into a more complete player by then.

He had a chance to flourish last year with Dallas. Whether it was playing alongside Dirk in the most unique frontcourt pairing in the league, or backing up Dirk to comprise the most formiddable PF depth in the league. The cerebral nature of his failure haunts my opinion of him, and I highly doubt there's a team or a situation in the league in which his brain would allow his talent to flourish.

RE:About Walker, funny info....
Perhaps as he gets older and *gasp* smarter, he will realize that he isn't all that after all....especially after being offered and given only the MLE by every single team(save Dallas) in the league.
Walker is a very underrated when it comes to rebounding the ball(he's had 16 double-doubles this season...had his 8th straight in that NJ debacle). But aside from that(and his passing), he Overrates *HIMSELF* as far as his shooting goes. That's nothing new.

RE: About Walker, funny info....
Actually, his shooting percentages would be rather acceptable if he just wouldn't shoot those dadburn 3 point shots. He may be the most deadly 3 point shooter in history. The way the ball caroms off of the backboard is absolutely scary. He's going to kill somebody one of these days. He needs to realise that when a defender backs off of him and lets him shoot those uncontested 3's that it isn't some kind of mistake.

That and if he can somehow raise his FT shooting to about 70% and cut his TOs down to 1.5/game, he'd be an all-star again (of course, it doesn't take much to be an all-star in the leastern conference!!). He can score & rebound with the best of 'em and for a big guy, has good passing skills.

RE:About Walker, funny info....
Well....better make that 9 Straight Double doubles(17 overall) as Walker scored 18 and pulled down 16 rebounds!! He also dished 5 assists, had 3 steals, and blocked a shot.
Tell me something : WHY IS ANTOINE DOING SOMETHING THAT DAMPIER SHOULD BE DOING NIGHT IN AND NIGHT OUT??? (and I'm referring to *just* the rebounding part)

Because the Hawks suck and have noone else to go to...so they go to Toine and he puts up decent numbers on a very sucky team...
yes that sucky team beat the Mavericks a few weeks ago- but do you really even want to go there?

Yes I do. 'Cause if the Hawks are a sucky team, like you said, then what does that make the Mavericks who got Beat like a drum by that same "sucky" team, eh?
Exactly.
And anyway, Walker being the #1 or #2 option is not what I was talking about. You can't run plays for REBOUNDING THE BASKETBALL which is what Walker did and has been doing lately. I'm saying that Walker, at only 6'9 is rebounding at a pace that should be the Norm for your high-priced Free Agent acquisition(Dampier).

RE: About Walker, funny info....
Walker sucks. He doesnt do anything really well. Comparing rebounding numbers for guys on two dissimilar teams is moronic.
Walker wouldnt be the backup PF that we needed and I would laugh at the idea of him at center again. Henderson is a better rebounding 6'9er and he doesnt need shots.
PS I will bet you 25 bucks to DM.com that Walker won't get Dampier-like numbers.

RE: About Walker, funny info....
MT-
Those are empty numbers...it's easy to have good numbers on an atrocious team.
And, I'll ask again: do you really want to go there? There are nights (in a rigorous NBA schedule) that even some of the most elite teams don't show up. Obviously, that was the case in Atlanta with the Mavs. The stars were aligned for the Hawks and the Mavs didn't show up.
Oh, and before the Hawks beat expansion team Charlotte on Saturday they were 6-27!!!! Good comparison! Haaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaa. Please MT- please for the love of God shush already!

Yes, Walker doesn't do anything really well. But that doesn't mean he sucks. And if you don't want to compare Rebounding numbers between him and Damp 'cause they are on "dissimilar" teams, then how about Career wise? Walker, aside from one year, has not averaged below 8 rebounds a game throughout his career. And Damp? Well...aside from his "CONTRACT YEAR", he's been up-and-down in that respect.

Walker has averaged almost 39 minutes a game in his career and pulls down a shade under 9 boards a game.
Damp has averaged almost 26 minutes a game in his career and pulls down a shade over 7 boards a game.
Walker averages about .23 rebounds per minute.
Damp averages about .27 rebounds per minute.
Add to that the shot blocking and physical presence in the paint and there is NO comparison between #8 and Damp.
