I'm making a huge mistake, but I've decided to take a Final Fantasy game a week. Two weeks ago it was VII, last week it was VIII, and this week it's X (my roommate is playing IX right now). I've put in about 25 hours in three days.

I've been playing the heck out of FF12 lately. I really wish PS3 would get a Final Fantasy.

ha, I didn't even see this post. I loove FF7.. but I don't have a copy of it anymore (mine broke)! I've been looking, not very hard, for few months too.

They should release it for download on the ps3 online store.

I eventually stole my copy from my friend (I happened to have given it to him about 8 years ago for his birthday).

This week is FFV week. It's a good break from the much more intensive other games. I can speed it up and only play it for a few hours a day to get done with it. I don't have to sit there and play for 8 hours day like I have been doing.

I just looked up FF7 on ebay/amazon. Going for $70 used, $130 new. dammit.

They need to remake it for the ps3.

I play CoD5. I haven't had to make the decision to prestige, though - still 15 more levels!

I'm sporting a 1.35 k/d ratio, though, which is pretty good, I think, for the level that I'm at - my roommate is going for this third prestige and he doesn't have that level yet.

When I bought mine it was $19.99 at Fry's.

Check Gamestop - they occasionally have used copies there.

On my last game of FF7 I finally beat Ruby Weapon - despite having beaten it 4 or 5 times before, I was so young I didn't realize how cheaply and easily it could be done. W-Summon Hades+KotR and mime it 6 or 7 times.

You shouldn't even need Hades for the last fight. He can be beaten with just one KotR, as long as you didn't use KotR on the Jenova form you fight before hand. If you do, his HP shoots up to like 400,000. Otherwise it's only like 80,000 or something.

Ya talking about prestige right?

Yeah if you get to level 55 I suggest you do it if you plan on continuing to play the game. If you don't play that often then you probably shouldn't so you can have all your guns. Once you prestige you go back to level 1 and you get a icon next to your level. Its fun because you could re do all the challenges over and unlock guns so you don't become bored of the same thing.

I have it, maybe when the weekend comes and your online we can team up and kick some spur butt on cod4.

Also

I'm 1st prestige in COD5 LEVEL 50 (ATM) K/D RATIO : 1.30
Win/Loss ratio: 1.07. (It was once at 1.20 but I started losing a lot because of the idiots who don't know how to play).

In CO4 I'm 2nd prestige and I don't care about my kill death or accuracy in cod4 because my brother plays it also and he screwed it up.

(Add me if you want gamertag in sig....just message me telling me who you are)

Fifa 09 is full of quitters. Jeez.

Anyone else got SF4 for 360? I'm asking for an ass kicking cause if you're half decent you'll have yourself two perfect rounds.

I started again so that I could try doing it without any alerts or kills. Never felt more right to sneak up on a man, put him to sleep, and drag him off to a dark corner.

To save the world, of course. And the children.

I don't play much COD4 anymore since I got COD5 when it came out.

I think my k/d on COD4 was around a 1.65. That was playing pretty much equal parts headquarters and hardcore team deathmatch.

My k/d on COD5 is 2.06 at the moment playing only hardcore team deathmatch or hardcore war.

My kids are really enjoying Lego Indiana Jones right now. I think it's a bit more young-kid friendly than Lego Star Wars was. The puzzles seem to be a bit easier.

bought a wii (extremely slightly used) off a coworker yesterday for $50. He included wii sports and tiger woods '07.

Any other game recommendations? we're going to get a wii fit (my wife really wants it), and maybe mario kart.

How is madden on the wii?

also, any recs on somewhere to get an additional controller? Those things are expensive!

Bowling is probably the most fun (and realistic, except for the weight of the ball). I also have Tiger Woods golf and once you get the hang of putting, it is great. wii fit, is amazing but some of it is very difficult. I know you will enjoy.

Walmart, I am sure, is the cheapest retailer for the controllers.

thanks, LT, i will look at those.

I did look online today and decided to pre-order punch-out. looks fun and there is a HEAVY nostalgia factor - i loved the original.

I'm in a recession mode so I won't be buying any video games but that doesn't stop me! I use this website to help me out with the bucks http://www.cheapassgamer.com/ its a great website that will inform you on certain sales from different websites or stores! It is great!

And I only play NBA 2k9 I would play Call of Duty 4 but I ran out of live

I have a Wii, but hell, I use my old gamecube games and a controller instead of the new crap.

I haven't really adjusted well to the Wiimote. I mean, I can use it fine, I just don't really like it. I want to get a 360...we'll see how that works out.

Right now is the best time to be a 360.

They are really cheap.

Holy crap, that's all sorts of awesome.

Yes, 360's are dirt cheap (especially if you use some dell coupons....)

so i bought punch-out yesterday. My initial impressions:

The gameplay and look/feel of this game are amazing. It is just FUN to play - which is really what we should be looking for in any game, especially wii games.

I played up to Great Tiger last night using the motion controls (without the balance board), and i LOVED it. the only complaint I have about the entire game (aside from no online features at all) is that for a jab/high punch, you have to press up on the nunchuk stick (or change your controls so that you hit Z or B) in addition to punching.

I found myself naturally just punching high, and forgetting to hit the stick. So i was still just doing belly shots. I'm still not completely used to it, but i'll get there.

I assume this is what caused the reviews I read that stated they should have waited to use the Wii Motion plus.

but other than that small complaint, like i said, i love it.
