My favorite baseball player of all-time, Frank Thomas hit his 26 homer of the year, and his 2,000th hit! He now has 402 homers/2,000 hits.

He needs to bust his ass if he wants to get into the Hall. What happened to him? Why did his #'s drop so significantly for about 4 years in a row?

He is a lock for the hall my friend, check the numbers.
And for an answer
2000- MVP runner up
01- Injured
02- Injured, yet still had a 28/92 year
03- having a fine year, 26 homers

So, in his last 4 years he had a MVP runner up year, a season missed b/c injury, a solid year with 28/92 and having a solid year this year, top 10 in OPS, Homers and Walks

He is still hitting great and is a HOF lock. His career numbers are sick.
He is THE ONLY PLAYER EVER, EVER TO HAVE 7 STRAIGHT YEARS OF AT LEAST

20 HOMERS
100 RBI'S
100 RUNS
100 WALKS
91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97

He will finish with around 2,700 hits and over 500 homers. He will finish top 50 all-time in homers, walks and rbi's. Career .313 AVG, career .998 OPS

I realize he is good player. I was just referring to when the big hurt was a perennial MVP candidate. I remember seeing him hitting around .350 40 HR and 130 RBI quite often.

Yeah, I just get defensive about Big Frank, Dirk and he are my all-time favorites.


Injuries really took a toll from the "OLd Frank"
He has never been the same since he tore his right tricep in 01 after his MVP caliber year in '00

But he still is hitting, not MVP great, but good, and will be in the HOF
