It looks like Pete Hunter is probably out for the season.

RE: BOYS AND SKINS GAME DAY THREAD....
Our secondary is in dire straights.... I have a feeling we are gonna have to find a trade or an old to fix it.

RE:BOYS AND SKINS GAME DAY THREAD....
I think this game pretty much sums up my opinion of Gibbs 2004. He was a great coach, but he has been away from football (not just coaching) for a long time. The game has changed quite a bit. Maybe Gibbs can adapt, but he is going to need time to get up to speed. And he should not be making personnel decisions without some experience in the salary cap era.

RE:BOYS AND SKINS GAME DAY THREAD....
Maybe Eddie just needs more carries. But I don't think the cowboys can afford him that. OL will get tired of being hit from behind. Right now he looks very easy to tackle, can't find a hole if he fell in it. Need to find a way to use him. Every defense sniffs him out.

RE:BOYS AND SKINS GAME DAY THREAD....
eddie has no vision, cutback ability, or breakaway speed.. he hits the whole way too slow.. even his touchdown runs, they are ultimately 1 or 2 yards runs if the ball was at any other spot on the field..

lee should be our featured back while eddie is only put in for strictly goal-line/short yardage situations

I'm not sure that Big Bill has enough trust in Lee to hand him that title, but I am onboard with you on it. Lee has that burst, and a little vision......Eddie is showing his age badly.

RE:BOYS AND SKINS GAME DAY THREAD....
Eddie, like Emmit, still has vision. They're just not quick enought to get to the hole while it's still open, not strong enough to break tackles, and not agile enough to make people miss.

RE:BOYS AND SKINS GAME DAY THREAD....
I'm not sure that Eddie has vision.....there were a couple of plays last night where he should have and could have bounced it from one side of the line to hit a rather large hole but he failed to see the opportunities.
I don't know what Eddie has to offer at this point in his career.

RE:BOYS AND SKINS GAME DAY THREAD....
Nobody had the vision that Emmitt had though.
That is the biggest thing that made him the leading rusher of all time.
Sanders had better moves and more quickness.
Campbell, Brown, Harris more power.
Dickerson, Payton, Dorsett all had more pure speed.
Davis, more power and speed.
But Emmitt, he had vision and toughness, and used it to the fullest when he had the quickness to get through the hole. He was also blessed with health. I am still in awe of his ability, at his size, with his speed, etc.
George was a good RB, but he really doesn't come close to the last two All-Pro running backs that the Cowboys have had, w/o including Walt, etc from the early years.

RE: BOYS AND SKINS GAME DAY THREAD....
I'm not comparing them beyond saying that backs generally don't lose their vision but the ability/willingness to hit the hole at full speed. Of course Eddie in his prime was nowhere close to Emmitt in his prime. He did however have vision that allowed him to be a pretty good back.

Think Coles will be looking for Williams as he runs through the Dallas secondary in December?

Not to mention the hit Roy put on Gardner making him think twice about catching a ball. Also Coles did not seem very effective after that hit. Go Cows.

Roy was fined $7,500 for this hit. I know you can't put your head down when hitting a defenseless receiver, but it doesn't look like his head made much contact with him. Seems like they would take that into account.

RE: BOYS AND SKINS GAME DAY THREAD....
Its crazy, The actual rules state that once the receiver touches the ball he becomes just like a RB or a runner and can be even hit helmet to helmet. Thats waht I was taught by my coah in high school. The league did the same sh!t to darren woodson couple of years back when he actually forced a fumble on a hit.

In the NFL it's not when the reciever touches the ball, it's when he has posession. That's why the hit on Gardner to end the game was legal.

RE:BOYS AND SKINS GAME DAY THREAD....
If he keeps making hits like that, the Pro Bowl salary--not to mention various endorsements thanks to his star status--will more than compensate financially. Not that it matters to Williams, anyway. I'm sure he'd bring $7500 cash to every game if he could buy a chance to hit a guy like that. Man, he is GREATNESS!

i think the NFL is trying to clean up the new image that they have..a league that is too dangerous..the fear is that someone could possibly get paralyzed on the field from a hit or even worse,go into a coma(which has happened to the college kid..how's he doing btw) or die
no one wants to see any of the above happen
