50/50 is always the safe bet... I live dangerously, so I'm going with a 51% chance that he signs with us.

Just hope that isn't the only reason he met with us....to set the bar high. But certainly a plausible strategy.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA 19 Min.Vor 19 Minuten
Sources: If the Clippers can keep DeAndre Jordan, team officials with growing confidence they'll lure Paul Pierce to $3.4M exception.

@FisolaNYDN: Knicks are definitely in play for Robin Lopez. Lakers and Mavs will also make a push depending on where DeAndre Jordan lands.

My negative projection for the next days
Aldridge signs a Max Contract with the Spurs (Bringing him into our Division).
Jordan took the Mavs to set the bar highly but at the end stays in LA and they get Paul Pierce to MLE.
Matthews signs with the Mavs but at the start of the season they know hes not the same with the injury.
No other relevant free agents sign with the Mavs.

Why? you havent heard my positive projection
DeAndre signs with the Mavs.
Mavs get Matthews who appears to be ahead of his rehab schedule and will be 100% at the start of the season.
Mavs also get Mo Williams for a reasonable deal.

And for some odd reason, the Kings want to do a sign and trade for Rondo, we balk, but their owner offers us a 2016 first round pick.......and of course he forgot to lottery protect it.

Its DJ or bust at this point as far as I'm concerned.
Not sure Donnie has anything left to work with if we miss out on him.

How cool would it be to win the DJ sweepstakes over 2 LA and 1 NY teams?

Right now its pretty much 50/50 between the Mavs and him staying with the Clippers i guess.
The Lakers and Knicks are a complete mess. I doubt hes wasting the next years there while they rebuild.
If this was 2008 i would agree we have no chance but right now the Lakers and Knicks arent attractive from a sportive perspective.

Ha Lakers, as long as Kobe is running the ship and Byron is the yes man, no top tier FA will go there.

Which blows my mind because they're totally wasting one of the NBA's best GMs in Mitch Kupchak... Buss-the-Lesser has totally let Kobe run that organization into the ground.

Don't really know why Jordan wouldn't pick Dallas if he was being truthful about what he wanted. He wants to be the main guy (which Dallas can offer with Dirk on his last legs and Parsons not talented enough for such a role), and money is not an issue (Dallas will offer him max money now and max money when he opts out if he stays healthy).
If the worst plays out and he balks then the Mavs find themselves in a rough situation. Best play would probably be to admit defeat and play for the lottery. What would hurt the most in such a situation would be the betrayal of Dirk, who signed such a team friendly contract with the hope of being competitive. Having that dashed in less than a year would be difficult to watch although I am sure the big fella would put a brave face on.
Enough with the negativity though. Come on Deandre, I want to enjoy watching the NBA next season!

Agree but i still need much preparation to watch DeAndre shoot Free Throws lol. He better hit the Gym with Dirk and Holger in the Offseason if we really sign him.

That would mean we get Jordan in the first place...

Hearing Clippers are on the brink of signing Paul Pierce
That would be very bad news for us in terms of DJ

But there was a report earlier that the Clips would only go after Pierce if Jordan planned on re-signing with them... This news doesn't bode well for us.

I thought they been interested in Pierce for like a month. Because of Doc Rivers wanting him. Didn't think an old 38 year old Pierce signing would be the X factor for DJ to re sign there.

Yeah...no disrespect to Dirk but Parsons is probably more of a factor for signing DJ than Dirk at this point.
And if there is an x factor for a player drafted in 98 then I'd think Dirk would be the more appealing player.

You have that backwards -- supposedly Jordan would draw Pierce to LA, not the other way around.
If true, then that means Jordan has already told the Clippers that he plans to re-sign. But I'm not sure how much truth there is to that rumor. I guess we'll find out soon.

When Splitter was traded it was a sign LMA was signing with Spurs.
When Pierce signs with LAC its a sign Clips get Jordan.
When TC leaves for Phx its a sign our FO is as inept as <insert username here> claims they are.
Mavs fans default setting is fallout shelter.

Pierce's three-year deal with Clippers will earn him nearly $10M, league source tells Yahoo Sports.
Forget DeAndre on to the Aldridge thread i guess ...

If Deandre wants a bigger part in the offense, the signing of Pierce does not help the Clippers. It should hurt them.

@ramonashelburne: DeAndre Jordan told a Clippers teammate after the season that he was probably coming back. If he leaves it's because someone swayed him

The more optimistic Ramona Shelburne gets, the better I feel about us signing Jordan... I saw her use this defense mechanism with Dwight -- she's getting nervous.

I give the Mavs about a 5% chance of signing him. Honestly, the past few seasons have been butchered so badly as far as personnel goes.. There's no reason for a big free agent to sign here

@espn_macmahon: Heard that Mavs coach Rick Carlisle really impressed DeAndre Jordan with X's and O's discussion during today's meeting.
