GSW beats OKC -
Durant rolls ankle at the end of the first half
- BUT-
became the 1st player since the ABA-NBA merger (1976) to score at least 30 points while playing fewer than 20 minutes.

As much as i hate OKC, Durant is one of the best scorers to ever play the game. It's really insane how good he can be without doing anything that different.

Rockets reportedly closing a deal, sending Troy Daniels to Minnesota for Corey Brewer. Ronny Turiaf likely going to a third team (who I have to believe has got to be Philadelphia).

Looks like it, though I think Daniels is a really good three-point shooter. Houston also kicking in two 2nd-round picks.

Just another note on Daniels: he has a league-minimum contract for this year and next, and is a restricted free agent after that. What a steal for the rebuilding Wolves.

Houston needed a SF, and they won't find a better one without giving up a significant piece. Corey's lack of a reliable jumper is a break from the Rocket's recent history of surrounding Harden/Howard with shooters, but he'll bring energy to the second unit and help their transition game.

Very good trade for Houston. I think highly of Brewer.

Remember when Billy King gave up the #6 aka Lillard for a few months of Gerald Wallace rental, including the pressure to re-sign him after giving away the pic?
How this guy has still a job...

Especially since right before that, he totally destroyed the 76ers.

Yeah...but this was probably the worst trade of the past five years...giving away this pick so you can pay Deron and Crash a combined 140 Million...

@eLonePB: I love that King doesn't want to trade Plumlee to get rid of Deron but poorly protected the pick for Gerald Wallace to keep Deron. #worstgm
@Windmill360: All those years (2) of Prokhorov being compared to @mcuban and the nets being the next big brand

That's funny.... Future core and Brooklyn in the same sentence.

Ariza is shooting 32% from the field and 30% from three for December. You'd think that was a slump until you saw that those weren't far off from his season stats.

Remember five games into the season when he was shooting like 60% from downtown and the sky was falling? Pretty great.

@bobbykaralla: The mighty Warriors, at 22-3, on pace for 72 wins, are just 4.5 games ahead of 6th place.
Damn, the West is STACKED.

It should also be mentioned that 72-10 would tie the record for best record in the NBA EVER
Also, three teams in the West are on pace to burst into the top-10 all time (GSW, MEM, POR)

The west is stacked but the SouthWest division is insane. At this typing EVERY.SINGLE.TEAM.IS.IN.THE.PLAYOFFS.
Just unbelievable.

Lakers lose to Kings 108-101
Kobe hit 8 out of 30 shots and had 9 turnovers. Yep - NINE!

I'm honestly wondering why the nba blogosphere hasn't yet exploded with questions about whether he was juicing in Miami.

I missed this post somehow... I strongly believe that most of the ridiculously-jacked superathletes of the NBA are on some sort of PEDs that the league turns a blind eye to.

Of course he is/was. Same with Dwight Howard...
Wouldnt be surprised PEDs are the reason Ray Allen "taking" so long to decide...

I think that's because when he got to Boston, he adapted his game from "primary option" to "catch-and-shoot specialist". Guys with consistent shooting motions generally age pretty well.
I'd definitely put LeBron, Wade, Westbrook, Dwight, Bynum, Iguodala, and guys that look like that on my list of suspects, though.

Wow, Josh Smith was turrible last night, and Ariza must have the longest shooting slump in NBA history.

So at which point would Houston have to forfeit the game for the broken rim? Looks like they have it figured out now, but the game was interrupted for over half an hour now.
Also, Dirk is great:
Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBA · 16 Min. Vor 16 Minuten
They had a guy bring out a ladder and a tape measure and everything. And of course Dirk was correct about the rim being off. So funny.

In DAL@WAS earlier this year, Dirk alerted Wiz 1 rim might be a tad off. Why? He was missing too many warmup Js. They checked, he was right

What's funny is last season the Rockets at Wizards game was delayed because of a leak.

Smith finished with those #s... I'm extremely glad we avoided that headache. Brewer played well and some Rockets fans are calling for him to start over Ariza.
Having seen quite a few Rockets games this season (the vast majority of my college buds grew up in the H and are Rockets fans) I don't see how they make much noise in the playoffs. They lack efficiency on offense and consistent play from their role players. Harden needs calls to make up for the fact he's not really shooting that well. Their one saving grace may be lockdown D but given how poor their offense is looking I think they get eliminated in the 1st round.

Seriously! 36% for the season. Ariza has been abysmal on offense, yet Rockets fan still believe he's been a net positive due to his contributions on defense.

Man houston fans are amazing. To have a player like harden who gets ridiculous calls, the fans and the players really do whine about the reffing. Obvious crap even after they see it on the monitor.

OKC with overtime win against PHX -
OKC attempted 49 freethrows and made 44 of them for 89.8%
PHX FTA 29 of 35
Oh - and way to go Scott Brooks - play Durant 40 min in first game return from injury.
