OKC beat us 4-0, wish them win title this year, show that our lost wasn't just an instance.
Beat LA! Beat Cheats!

Anybody has anything to say about Dirk's postgame interview? I guess he had every right to throw his teammates under the bus..

just cant understand why we didnt use our fastest player against Westbrook and Harden???
Our only chance next year is:
sign Deron, Kaman and get a few (sign and) trades with Terry,Beabouis and Odom for a SG and SF
and then: amnesty Haywood...

Cuban tried to cheat, he tried to fool around....delusional kool aid groupies of course once again bought into it like a bunch of stupid ducklings..."we believe," "just one game", "just make the playoffs and go from there", "Galloway is an idiot", "Barkley is an idiot", "you are an idiot", "how dare you criticizing player XY" blah blah blah....
But THX god reality kicked Cuban and his groupies right in the middle of their mouth with a well deserved, embarrassing sweep at home. Way to go, wasting an other year of Dirk's HOF career....and selling it as a freakin plan.

Heck, even their 3rd string center(Collison) is better at doing things centers need to do than any of our centers.

Sometimes I hate this board and a large chunk of the people that post here.
A lot of you morons don't deserve to root for one of the best organizations in basketball.
Enjoy your miserable lives. Enjoy being "right" about Cuban and the team.
I'll be over here, continuing to relish in the incredible success of my favorite sports team, the incredible privilege of rooting for someone like Dirk and the fantastic organization that stuck by him when everyone (including a lot of people on this board) wanted them to cash in and trade him before last year.

Is it funny? What's funny about it? How many people called for the Mavs to trade Dirk and rebuild? How many people in Dallas and around the NBA labeled Dirk not good enough? How many other organizations would have spent the money the Mavs have spent over the past decade to bring a title?

Well, coaching still matters a lot. Talent does not always trump tactics. How many analysts thought we would win last year? Do you think they made their conclusions based on our coaching or our talent level? IMO coaching was big last year.

Coaching is big every year. But coaching cannot fill a donut hole.

You have easily been the worst poster on here the past month if not the whole season. Go take a break and come back with perhaps a different attitude next season. Your Cuban bashing is so laughable that I can't imagine anyone with a brain taking you seriously.
Fans are allowed to be annoyed that this season was more or less sacrificed, but Cuban at least attempted to fill it up with some semblance of one year rental talent. The centers started off great and then fell off a cliff...Cuban's fault? Odom shoveled dirt and created a huge lockeroom drama...Cuban's fault? The lockout season was an awful product that affected MANY teams (see Orlando and Chicago)...Cuban's fault? The Mavs never even had a chance to gell with so many games crammed together and injuries taking their toll...Cuban's fault? Oh how perspective is lost because he didn't shell out huge and ridiculous long term contracts for every free agent last summer. How cheap Cuban is...:/

Professional athletes are irrationally confident in themselves and will always be the last to admit that they're slipping.

You will be 100% right
IF
Cuban lands a big fish next year and makes us a contender (as good as 2011).

The funny thing is that in 3 of the 4 games we had 4th quarter leads and we could and should have won all 3 of those games, but we totally and completely melted down in the clutch. The Thunder are supposedly one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the NBA, so as bad as this Mavs team was supposed to have been, they didn't play all that bad. We could just as easily be up 3-1 right now...

In game 1 and 2 it was offense, in the other games it was more or less a mixture of both. I thought the defense was solid in games 1 and 2, the Thunder didn't make a basket in the last several minutes of game 2 but still won because we couldn't score. In game 1 Marion played good D on the last shot but it went in anyway. We were up 7 with 2 minutes left and didn't really score again, while at the same time turning the ball over. In game 4 though, the defense was just brutal. You could make a case for both, but at the end of the day we lost the series regardless

Thank you xrobx for reminding us that OKC is an elite team this season. Not like the Mavs got swept by a bunch of scrubs. The Thunder are now a well-oiled, young machine. I dont think they are championship yet, but the youth was too much for the old legs of the Mavs. If people are going to complain about anything, then it should be that Cuban needed to infuse more youth on the roster than he did. Problem with that is every team wants young studs, but they cost money. The only feasible way for Cuban to do that was to be a player in free agency this summer.

The Mavs just seemed out of sync for most of the season and playoffs. I kept waiting for them to show better focus and execution but it never materialized, with the exception of a game here, and a quarter there. Nothing consistent. I find that disappointing and, for me, unexpected. I expect veterans to figure it out, come together, and develop the kind of chemistry and trust necessary to win in the playoffs. This group was not able to do that for whatever reason.
I think everyone wanted Tyson and JJ back this year, but the plan put forth by Cuban and Donnie is defensible. It might not work, but it is defensible imo. My biggest beef with the FO is that they should have sent Lam Lam packing in January. His presence, poor work ethic and apathy hurt this team. Even though the plug was eventually pulled, it appears the decision was too little, too late. This was a serious miscalculation by the MBT.
This offseason will be critical for Mark and Donnie. I believe they have to deliver the goods or find themselves at serious odds with the Mavs fandom, media and possibly even Dirk. Fair or not, the FO has articulated a plan that will be evaluated by all stakeholders and the blind trust earned last season is fickle and fragile. I, for one, believe Cubes and Donnie will find a way to rebuild and compete next year for the NBA crown all over again. So, I'm going to put this aberration of a season behind me and choose to be optmistic. It seems to me that anything short of that just prolongs the angst and aggravation. I am going to wait until this offseason is over and we begin the next chapter. If at that time, Mark and Donnie have not executed a credible plan then there is a legitimate beef and perhaps we should search for our torches and pitchforks!

Dirk basically said that OKC won because, as an elite team, you need two or three guys who can create their own shots. Shots were fired! In Cubes direction, too.

Dirk is one thing, but the organization isn't "fantastic"
First, they let one of his prime years of his career go to waste because they want to sign a "Big Fish" or "Star". What if those stars don't want to come here?
Second, Dirk is getting old. Watch how when he gets to be older he will get kicked in the butt by the same "fantastic" organization. That will be sad.
Third, no one wants Dirk out of here. At least not a fan that I know of. Mark Cuban is another story. Everyone knew that Chandler, Barea and Stevenson were the pieces that helped the Mavs win a championship run.
Chandler was the anchor and heart of the defense. (Defensive Player of the Year 2012)
Barea could penetrate, break down defenses, and facilitate for others (plus he was fast)
Stevenson could be thrown at Durant, Kobe, LeBron and he would made their life miserable (he shot 3s well too).
But noooo, they had to get rid of them. The sad story of this will be if the Mavs can't get the "big fishes" they are hoping to get in free agency.

Still, the message it sends out right after the exit is pretty clear. I don't remember an interview where he openly stated the obvious. But maybe you can jog my memory.

Would never ever guess OKC would sweep this series. Of course, those first 2games were so close, we could be at a 2-2 tie right now. Anyways, next season will be here before you know it. I'm sure Dallas will have plenty of optimism by the time next season rolls around. Thanks for tolerating me around here.

Perkins is especially important against LA. He's listed as day-to-day. The MRI revealed no tears, just a strain.
