Default Cuil

Allow the geek in me to peek for a sec...

But there's a new search engine that's garnered a lot of hype, it's headed by ex-Googlers, people who lead search engines at eBay, altavista and HP. It's at:

www.cuil.com

Monopolies are never good and Google almost has the search game on lock. Even though I clear my cookies, etc., having all my electronic information in one location and privacy are also concerns for me.

Anyways, have a go. It's pretty impressive considering it's been alive for about a day.

That's pretty slick. I love the submenu that comes up when it recognizes what you might be searching for.

i read about cuil the other day on ars technica, it's okay. It definitely isn't as fast as Google. I agree with you about how google tracks and watches your search history. But you can turn that off. Just go into options or whatever and find where it says turn it off. That is what i did.

thoughts?

I tried cuil when I heard about it. In 5 test searches, it completely hung up on 2.
