RE:Mavs waive everbody
We can always sign Sasser later on. The fact is we had to choose between Sasser and Dickau and Sasser doesnt do anything that Stackhouse and Daniels don't already do.

the more fitting title of this thread wouldve been "Mavs waive nobodys".

RE:Mavs waive everbody
I liked how Sasser looked in the last game, but there is also a reason why he was waiting by the phone for a ten day call up.

RE: Mavs waive everbody
Come on now, Dan Dickau a "sharp" shooter? 39.9% FGs and 35.2% 3's is not exactly high for a specialist. Last year he was below his career averages, 37.8% FGs and 33.3% 3s. Basically, there is a reason he has been traded 3 times in one summer. I just don't see it, after watching him play last night, he is slow, unathletic, is not a really good passer, he is basically a guy that is an average shooter.
Sasser is not really better, I agree, but with Quis and Stack out, and Sasser knowing the Mavs offense and defense, we could have used him early in the season. But that is over with now, lets get the season started!

RE: Mavs waive everbody
he has shot over 50% in the preseason...lets not allow that to be totally overlooked he seems to have a spot on this team.

Anyone that can knock down an open shot from long distance consistently should have a spot on a team.

But I am going to hope. I am going to be optimistic about this for sure.

RE: Mavs waive everbody
So we start the season with Pavel, TAW and Stackhouse on the injured list and either Dickau or Mbenga gets "injured" when Stack comes back.

Yeah, once Quis is back and at full strength I bet Dickau is headed to the IR with Pavel and TAW. Who knows though, we might never be completely healthy.

to make such a comparison valid, one would have to admit that Dickau has more experience and has proven much more in the preseason than Harrington ever did...the similarity may well be in their ultimate contribution to the team, but I hope not.

Didn't we trade him to the Warriors in order to get Jamison? I'd say he accomplished something.

BTW, I didn't even know we had Felipe Lopez during the preseason. I wonder what happened to this guy. I remember him coming out of high school he was so hyped up by the NY media. Wasn't he a victim of the Sports Illustrated cover curse?

The point of this comparison is that, to me, Adam Harrington was the equivalent of the team mascot or team pet. He did NOTHING. To the point that his presence on the roster defied all logic. After watching Dickau, I am genuinely unimpressed. I was hoping he'd be a 3 point specialist or something, but I don't see it. I'd like to think we were grooming him, but what on earth for? We have 2 better young PG's. Like harrington, his presence on the roster defies logic.

I see it, you will too if you look here
Dickau to me does not have to just shoot three, Paxon and Kerr didn't just shoot threes...they were deadly when open from anywhere on the court..this is who I would like Dickau to become

I guess I'm not too concerned with our 15th man when our two deep is better than everyone elses in the NBA.
