Honestly think Dallas just stays. It would be sweet to make Whiteside fee regret though.
It felt pretty good when Howard realized he made a huge mistake.

If Dallas signed Whiteside (which won't happen) GS would just trade Bogut to Houston, who made a last second effort to try to pry him away from us, or to some other team.

I think so too. Not sure how his stock has fallen so low.

The Heat situation I don't think begins to compare to this. The Warriors were already a "superteam" of sorts. Already had the greatest regular season record in history and already on the path to win multiple championships. The Heat's big 3 pales in comparison to GSW's big 4, I think. And to the extent that this does compare to Lebron and Bosh joining the Heat- I hated when that happened too.

@WojVerticalNBA: Sources: Dwyane Wade is pushing for a resolution on his future tonight: Miami, Chicago or Denver. Pat Riley wants an answer too.
@WojVerticalNBA: For Miami, Pat Riley needs to know: Is Wade in or out? If he's out, Riley is lining up contingency plans. He'll move fast elsewhere.

@espn_macmahon: The one-franchise legend is such a rare species. Kobe. Duncan. Dirk. Always thought D-Wade would be in that group, but he took Heat's dare.

We can just take solace in the fact that the Mavs destroyed the Heat by forcing their hand with Whiteside.

@JMcDonald_SAEN: Heat fans are going to be absolutely floored by the D-Wade news when they find out midway through the first quarter of the season opener.

Howard? Should have avoided Harden and joined us?
Jordan? Should have avoided the Griffin drama and the injury bug and joined us.
Whiteside? Wade ditched you. Should have learned from the other guys.

Miami's Hassan Whiteside seems dazed by Dwyane Wade's departure
10:53 PM CT
Jackson AlexanderESPN Editor
Moments after reports of Dwyane Wade signing with the Chicago Bulls trickled out, his now-former teammate Hassan Whiteside took to Twitter to express his feelings.
Whiteside's reaction is understandable considering Wade's 19 points per game was second on the Heat last season to Chris Bosh, whose health remains a question.
On top of that, Miami already lost its fifth- and sixth-leading scorers from last season: Joe Johnson (13.4 points per game) and Luol Deng (12.3 points per game), respectively. Johnson went to the Utah Jazz, while Deng signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Whiteside was joined by a few NBA players who recognized both the magnitude of Wade leaving Miami and the intrigue for the impending 2016-17 season.

Who in the absolute hell is Tyler Johnson? Looks like a guy on par with Seth Curry...for 50 million.

@bobbykaralla: One side effect of KD to GSW: Makes him catching Dirk on all-time pts list a bit harder. Aside from LBJ, KD has best chance of active guys.
@bobbykaralla: KD is at 17,566, Dirk at 29,491. Volume scoring will be a tad tougher playing in that offensive machine. (I don't think he minds.)

@WojVerticalNBA: Source: Festus Ezeli's two-year deal with Blazers will be worth $16M.
@MarcJSpearsESPN: Festus Ezeli's Blazers deal is actually $7.4 million the first year with a team option of $7.33 million in the second year, a source said.

I know. As bad as he was in the finals it's seems he's worth more than that. And next season is a team option?! Cap is going up again. He'd have been better off signing for a little less somewhere and taking a player option.

He didn't play well in the playoffs, but it's not completely his fault since he just wasn't played much.

I wonder if Ezeli has a terrible agent or if his contract is a sign of the market correcting itself after that insane start.

Harrison Barnes, Andrew Bogut, Leandro Barbosa, Festus Ezeli, Mareese Speights, and Brandon Rush all gone. I don't care who they brought in, that sort of turnover is hard to get over. Especially when you have veteran leaders like Bogut and Barbosa leaving.

The absence of Bogut and Barbosa can not be overstated. Barbosa was the calm in the storm (draymond's drama) and Bogut could always turn it into a clever joke among peers/media.

@espn_macmahon: Dallas signed undrafted rookie forward Dorian Finney-Smith to a partially guaranteed three-year deal. Finney-Smith, a Florida product, will get a chance to make a case that he deserves a roster spot during the Las Vegas summer league and training camp.
