Default Sports Quiz Thread

I don´t know if this has been tried before. If my survey through older threads was sloppy mods should feel free to do their duty. If some of you guys participate it might help to get through the paralysing boredom...
The game I have in mind is limited to names of great sportsmen or sportswomen.
The questions could look like that:

Which american track and field athlete has won 10 gold medals at the Olympics?
Which famous belgian cycler was and is still known as the "cannibal"?
Who is leading NBA´s all time stats for three points shots made?
Which woman is holding the current world record in paule-vaulting?

The poster who asked a question should confirm when the right answer has been given.

So here is my first question:
Which European long distance runner was known as the "locomotive"?

No. I get a point.

Why did Mario Lemieux of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins choose uniform number 66 and who did it honor?

Murphy, we`ll share the point. From my point of view soccer definitely is a sport. But I must concede, that some people say it is nothing more than an occasion to drink some beers.

Bingo (and thanks for the information - I can remember Hakeems quadruple double, now that you´ve mentioned)

Who are the only two soccer players which have won the World Championchip as players and as coaches?

It has probably been a bad question. His name is Al Oerter and he was a master in throwing fish (diskus). Oerter has won four olympic gold medals.
