Default 05-06 Finals Team Autographed Mavericks Basketball for Sale

Hello everyone,

I've decided to sell my 05-06 Mavericks NBA finals team autographed basketball.

The genuine leather Spalding ball is signed by every team member on the 05-06 Finals team and will include a clear box casing for display. It has never been out of the casing and is in absolutely perfect/brand new condition. This is a definite collector's item and a great gift for the ultimate Mavs fan. The ball and casing will also come with a certificate of authenticity as well as a document sheet with everyone's name who signed the ball.

I currently have the price at $225 plus shipping but I am willing to negotiate a little. If you're interested just let me know. You can also e-mail me at

-Dirkenstien

Flacolaco,

Well I was going through my closet when I saw it and realized that something that nice should really be on display somewhere. Our place is pretty small and we have two inside dogs so there's no way I was going to risk placing it up somewhere it could possibly be damaged. That's when I thought it would be best to sell it so someone else can enjoy it more than I can. Hopefully I can find a good home for it.

This is a good deal considering a one-player autographed basketball typically runs about the same price and considering this was the most accomplished team in Mavericks franchise history.

If anyone has any questions about it please feel free to ask. If it doesn't sell here I'll probably put it up on e-bay but I wanted to give my fellow dallas-mavs.com members the first chance at it.

My two cents..Actually, collectors would prefer it have one signature. I know that sounds crazy but the more the signatures the more confusing it becomes. I once had a baseball autographed by Nolan Ryan and G.W. Collectors wouldn't touch it. (the obvious jokes aside) Regardless, my Labrador got a hold of it and let's just say Roy Hobbs would have been proud.

So the moral of the story, is just keep it. You won't get any where near what you are asking.

Yeah, I've been browsing through some sports memorabilia sites and haven't found anything similar.

There are some balls signed by teams - but they were championship teams.

It's a nice piece, and a true fan would want it, but as previously mentioned team signed balls don't sell for a whole lot. I seriously doubt you get anywhere near $225 for it (you can get signed jerseys of star players for that, and those are considered much more premium items).

don' listen to them, Dirkenstein. They're trying to pull your price down.
mavsgear.com has an 06-07 team signed ball for twice what you are asking.

If there is someone out there who will buy an 06-07 ball for $500, then there is someone out there who can sell an 05-06 ball for $250.

Thanks for the link Lurkin.

If anyone is interested in this but thinks $225 is too high then make me an offer. Like I said I'm really just trying to clear this out so I'm open to offers.

They are also trying to sell a Devin Harris signed jersey for $500...in other words, their prices are ridiculous.

Dirkenstein-Your best bet is to put in on eBay and see what people are willing to pay. It's a great piece and a true fan would want to own it, but unfortunately you aren't going to get the value you are looking for.

Just as a comparison, here's an 07/08 autographed ball that is up for auction on ebay, and that I'll presume is authentic: http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-2008-Autogr...QQcmdZViewItem

Based on what I've seen in the past, and considering the fact that the seller of the above ball is asking for $250, I'd say that Dirkenstein's ball is definitely in the right price range for an ebay sale, it's just that team merchandise of this sort usually sells faster on ebay at certain times of the year. The beginning of the season, the playoffs, and especially Christmas are times of the year when high end Mavs stuff goes fast and for the kinds of prices that would be a little harder to command during the dog days of basketball-less Summer...

haha...and I was trying to be discrete and sneak in from the back

Honestly, if it was on an Official NBA Basketball it would attract some interest and maybe even a bid or two. But, for this price, the ball needs to be gold plated.

Oh there has been a lot of interest and I've received several inquiries just no bids yet.

I'd actually rather hold on to it so if it doesn't sell I may just change my mind. It's just cool having a piece of Mavericks history like this because you don't see them everywhere.

Say what you will, Shaggy, but the price is really a steal. Anything where you can get Dirk's, Terry's, Howard's, Devin Harris' and others' autographs in one spot is awesome. Just knowing you're holding something that all of these guys held, signed and numbered is so cool. Then to add on the fact it was the most successful season in Dallas Mavericks franchise history makes it even more awesome!

Gold plated? Psshhh. Give me that official 100% Spalding cowhide baby. The real deal.

If I sell it again it may be around Christmas, depending on how the Mavericks are doing but it won't be for this price. Then again, the longer I hold on to it the more attached I become so I may not ever put it up for sale after this auction ends.

There are two kinds of sports collectors: sellers & buyers...

You just pinpointed the joy of the latter...
