Matt Barnes
I want us to get Matt Barnes badly, I was exploring some Warriors fans message boards and they seem to think that Nellie doesn't want him back. We can easily have him for cheap if we tried to. He is at best an average player but there is a certain nastiness he has that I love. I would love to see someone call the Mavs soft if Barnes was with us, the guy is not scared to play tough and grind it out. His defense is also stellar, him and Josh together would be great perimeter defense. We all remember the Hell Barnes put us through last year, and now we have a chance to have him playing on our side. And I bet you J-Kidd can make him better, Here is a mix of Barnes: http://youtube.com/watch?v=h_OosSMj50Y

i would love that but if we spent MLE in bringing diop back, doesn't that make our chances of getting him very slim...

Im not sure because I have heard his value has really dropped which is why I thought we might still be able to get him.

If we can get him with the vet's minimum, we should jump on it.

No. After watching him in the 2007 playoffs against us..I decided to root against him for his entire career. I am not a fan of "thugs" and I do not like the way he acts.

He would be a great 10-12 guy off the bench. He's one of those guys that are annoying when you play against him, but appreciate when he's on your team, ie James Posey.

I did not appreciate how he goes out of his way... turning to our bench after he scores..yelling..in all likelihood incomprehensible jibberish

He's terrible.

He's not terrible but I don't think his defense is stellar or he would have already been signed by someone and if anyone would want him for more than the minimum I would be surprised.

Yup that's exactly why I want him for our team, I think his defense and his athleticism is also very good.

M. Barnes
I like him.... he is good in moving without the ball... just what j-kidd need.... he will be a good recipe, imagine j-kidd doesnt need to penetrate, just throw a lob at G. Green or give a good pass on running or positioned M. Barnes.. or he can throw it to nowitzki for 3.... plus he is a good defender....

The Phoenix Suns apparently dipped into the talent pool in their own division this weekend.
Multiple media reports on Sunday said that free-agent forward Matt Barnes, who played for the Golden State Warriors last season, will take a physical on Monday in Phoenix before signing a one-year deal with the Suns.
"He's the perfect player for us, an athletic guy who runs the floor, finishes at the basket and can shoot the outside shot," Suns general manager Steve Kerr said, according to the East Valley Tribune. "He's also a guy who has had big games in the playoffs for Golden State and likes the big stage."
The 27-year-old Barnes has played for five teams in a five-year career. His best season came in 2006-07 when he averaged 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds for a Warriors team that upset the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs.
Last season, Barnes' numbers fell off to 6.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, close to his career averages of 6.1 points and 3.8 rebounds.
Barnes will make the veteran minimum -- $1.2 million -- next season

I knew this was going to happen, we could have had him for cheap. Watch as next season he locks our Sg's down and then hits threes on offense. He's the kind of player you hate to play against but you would love to have on your team. This sucks.

Players get a choice of where they want to go when they are unrestricted free agents...that's why.

I am not a fan of Barnes. But, with Sasha getting 5 million a year, the vet's minimum for Barnes is a steal.

He wanted a chance to get serious minutes and compete for a starting job. He wasn't going to get that here. At least not the starting part.
