Default Time to rest players?

I really don't think the Spurs will lose two games or lose to Houston. Is it time to start cutting down minutes of players so they can be fresher. Stack, Josh and Dirk need to rest. Even if they don't want to admit it.

Protects them from injury too.

Avery stated this morning that he will not over rest players like he did last year, they actually protested against that. But he will rest them.

I don't see how cutting someone's playing time by 2 to 3 minutes equates to resting them

I never bought into the rest thing. These guys are pro athletes. They'll be ready to go, as long as they are healthy.

I also thought that and imo it's a ridiculously stupid thing for a coach to do. It's wrong on so many levels.

1. This game isn't the most important one.
2. We can cruise in this game so I don't have to make sure my best players are in it.
3. I'm thinking about tommorrow night so why don't you guys.

I'm hoping he wasn't that stupid but it looked like it. If so it bit him in the butt, because now he needs to win this one even more. stupid.

Dirk's 2nd quarter is the most overblown aspect of last night's game. He sat for 5 or 6 minutes in the 2nd quarter and that was enough to kill his rhythm for the entire game? he sits out 15 minutes every night at halftime! Maybe Avery should have played him 48 minutes and he would have scored 60 points and impressed all the MVP voters. As it was, he ended up shooting 50% which is consistent with his season average...somethimes the percentages catch up with you.

He played almost 36 minutes and if we wouldn't have getting our asses kicked at the end of the game he would have been at or above his season average. Reading some of these threads you'd think he played 25 minutes.
