Default PGT: Dirk tops Shaq, Mavs win OT in Brooklyn

Dirk moves into #6 all-time with 22 points, Barea chips in a game/career-high 32 points...

Wouldn't know it from the GDT but I thought Parsons had a pretty decent game. We had no Dwill and Felton was awful tonight so we needed playmaking and I thought he did a solid job and helped on the boards which we were killed on tonight. His length seemed to really bother Iso Joe after he was posting up any and every guard we had and effortlessly scoring.

Parsons might be one of those guys who needs to let his defense help get his mojo back on offense. In other words he seems to lack confidence on the offensive end so focusing on D and having some successes might help him set the tone and get more comfortable in the flow of the game as a whole.

Oh and now about Dirk....
Kudos to him for being the greatest Mav ever and always will be.
Can't imagine a better player and person in a Mavs uniform.
Probably the most respected player in the league right now.

Im going to be watching/reading all things NBA for tonight and tomorrow and I want to see Kobe level praise from guys around the league. Kobe will have 10 points in a half and NBA players are tweeting hashtags out the ass. Give Dirk his due.

Weve said this before but hopefully this is a game the mavs can build on. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, especially in OT, but they gutted it out. That should be something to lean on later in the season.

Is anyone worried that Carlisle hasnt found a way to integrate Anderson/Jeremy Evans in spots? Or is one of those situations like Aminu where it takes a long time to earn Rick's trust.

For some reason it doesn't feel like we are 4th in the West....but WE ARE. That's gotta mean somthing. And I don't think this team has played the best basketball it can play...so it should get even better.

Barea, you've made some dumb plays this season and are shooting pretty terrible percentages...

Yeah, 16-13 goes a bit farther this year than last, but I do agree that this team has yet to put it altogether.

Debbie Downer - Winning Ugly...
we were out-rebounded by almost 10 (43/34)
we had more turnovers (17 to their 11)
they had 9 steals to our 3
they shot the ball 19 more times than us! (101/82)
blow a 16pt lead to a 8-21 team

But we had big balls JJB with 32 points, 11 assists
And to quote FreshJive - "Barea haters can suck it."

MAVS WIN!!! - I'll take it

I can't believe we are the 4th seed right now with our record. The West is really odd this year. I hope we do get it together and stay at #4.

Looking at the West and the teams below the Mavs in the standings, significant injuries (other than the lingering injuries to Parsons and Matthews) are the only way the Mavs could finish worse than 7th. Certainly possible that the Clippers, Houston, and Memphis finish above the Mavs. But Utah? Phoenix? Sacramento? New Orleans? These are all teams that many experts said would be better than the Mavs this year. Whoops.

It's a byproduct of GS and SA having a combined 52-6 record and the fact that a majority of their games are played against their own conference...

I think Powell, CV and the 4 PGs (indirectly) are keeping those 2 off the court.
Now that McGee is getting healthy that will make it even tougher for Evans to get the same opportunity that Aminu got last season.

Yeah I wish Anderson could get some spot minutes here and there a bit more. It's encouraging that when he has gone down to D league this year thus far(4 games) that he's averaging 25 a game on 47% shooting and 38% from 3. Only grabbing 3 boards a game though but I think that is also just the system. RC seems to want the wings to just box out and go rather than crash boards. Wants them to get out and run and Legends run the same system. I guess since he and Powell both are hard workers by all reports being given, we can hope for a growth step in the off season and be a solid part of the rotation in year 2.
