Rashard Lewis
What do you think we would have to give up to get Rashard Lewis?

Howard and something to ease the pain of a Ray Allen huge deal.

RE:Rashard Lewis
Do, you think if we made a Howard and Laettner for Lewis deal. We would then trade Finley for a center such as Ilguaskas or a part of a Dampier deal?

RE: Rashard Lewis
Y'all are speculating about sending Laettner and Howard to Seattle for Rashard Lewis? That should qualify as the "trade and draft board" pipe-dream of the night...
Regardless of how bad Seattle was last year, Rashard Lewis is still pretty darned untouchable.

RE:Rashard Lewis
What makes him "untouchable?" Talent wise he is a better defender (dont know by how much) than Jamison. Jamison is a better inside scorer. Lewis is a better shooter. They dont seem that different.
Does Lewis suck defensively?

RE: Rashard Lewis
Didn't Rashard score 50 and 30 points, one night after the other during the start of the season against the Clippers? I don't think Seattle is thinking of trading him..... you just don't trade 50-point scorers like that *cough*jamison*cough*delk*

RE:Rashard Lewis
another overrated jump shooter..his salary is about what it should be though..seattle isn't over or underpaying
like i said before, all i've been hearing for two years is how this guy is a superstar and he hasn't really done anything..18-19 pts/game but that's about it
he's like a middle class version of dirk
i'd rather have howard for offensive rebounding..mavs have enough shooters

He's too hot and cold. Last Season his stats were great(in fantasy land) but after the first month he was a nobody again. Basically when Flip got started in making a name for himself, and then completely disapearing when Allen came back.

RE:Rashard Lewis
Dallas trades: PF Christian Laettner (5.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 20.5 minutes)
Dallas receives: SF Rashard Lewis (17.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg in 36.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +11.9 ppg, +1.7 rpg, and +0.3 apg.
Seattle trades: SF Rashard Lewis (17.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg in 36.6 minutes)
Seattle receives: PF Christian Laettner (5.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 48 games)
Change in team outlook: -11.9 ppg, -1.7 rpg, and -0.3 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
and give them the trade exception.
I am sure that they don't want to trade him that bad, but that is the only thing I would do.

I cant belive that is all that you would do. I would add on Howard and the ATL 1st rounder to you trade.

RE: Rashard Lewis
Management would take fire for getting anything other then a big man in the middle if they got Lewis. I can't imagine us needing anything except a center at this point. We're stacked in the backcourt and Dirk is the power forward. You can't tell me we need to upgrade any other position except maybe back-up PF. Keon Clark would fit nicely there. Otherwise, we need center.

RE: Rashard Lewis
I'd rather keep Howard. He had a great rookie season, much better than Lewis' rookie year.

But lewis is the same age as howard... he never went to college. I think the age favors lewis .

RE: Rashard Lewis
But we need Howard's defense more then Lewis's offense. Howard also is going to improve to about 12 points a game this year I believe.

RE:Rashard Lewis
No offense you people are goobs. Rashard Lewis is good young player he has size and can shoot. While L8 was a great college player was a nobody in the pros. No GM in their right mind would trade L8 and Howard for Lewis. Listen Howard is a nice player but hes not the future mike finley.
If you were going to trade for him it would probably have to be stackhouse and Howard for Lewis.

Lewis' offense outdoes Josh's offense by a solid bit more than Josh's defense outdoes Lewis' defense. Josh would have to improve more than a bit on both ends of the court this summer to get to a level where it would even be a toss-up between him and Lewis. That said, when you're looking at Lewis vs. Josh, you have to consider that Josh will be making peanuts the next three years compared to Lewis, who will almost certainly be looking for a very large new contract next offseason. I'd probably go as far as giving up an expiring contract, Josh, and the 1st from the Atl trade to get Lewis, but only if Mark was committed to matching any offer for Lewis and Lewis was committed to staying in Dallas under those circumstances.

RE:Rashard Lewis
Why do we need another go to guy. keep the core that we have, teach 'em the system and defense, and surround Dirk with quality role players and guys that will compliment him.
I love Lewis, but I just dont thin khe is what the Mavs need. JHoward is cheeper, a little longer, a better rebounder, and seems to have good chemistry with the rest of the team...
