Vijay missed the cut. Faldo has pretty much retired from golf. Not sure about Olazabal or Montgomery.

Davis's tour eligibility has run out, I'm afraid. He is desperately trying to play his way into tournaments. Basically, he's done.
Monty aged too quickly, it would seem. His run as "best player never to win a major" dragged out for a while, but I think it's gone now. He'll be there at St Andrews, I'm sure, but his star is certainly fading.
Vijay is still playing, but he's no more a threat than he ever was.
Olazabal is not carrying the torch for his country anymore. Sergio and Camillo are doing that. But the Spaniards in general are not creating the furor they used to. (God bless Seve.)
Faldo is well into his second career, golf broadcaster. And doing a hell of a job at it, at that.
This Masters has been as good as it gets, so far. The old guys are still going strong, the Brits are showing their mettle, and Phil is now leading the American charge (ABT...Anyone But Tiger). Great tourney!!

This is so sad. I hardly know 1/3 of the leaderboard. The good old times are done.
Thankfully Tom Watson is holding the pace so so. He is the real man.
And i´m, glad the Walrus gives his best (79,78). Bernhard hasn´t made the cut for the 3rd or 4th consecutive time.
All in all - it sucks. This is not the Masters i used to listen to.

The Walrus is not playing anymore. That is actually his son. Langer is still good enough to make the cut...if he doesn't...that's on him. Tell it to Watson!
If you don't know the leaderboard, the joke is on you. There is no good reason you should not know the players on this leaderboard. They are players known worldwide. You should be embarrassed with yourself.

Yeah, and he's as fat as his dad.
You should follow golf more closely. There are no Germans, because there are no Germans worth a crap. Sorry, but it is what it is. Why are Germans so bad?

Hm, no problem with that. It´s sports. I, frankly, don´t know. Golf is very exclusive, which means there are annual fees of 1000 € (lowest margin)+ to pay and students have to hurry up. And Golf mostly is not available during schooltime. This might be the main reason.
As to sports german schools and universities suck ass.

That is ridiculous. But, it could explain why there are no Germans atop the world rankings. Save for Langer?
So sad, so sad.

Sure. Sports starts early. That´s why germany is only succesful in soccer and winter games, because especially the winter disciplines are subsidized by the army. But to be honest: Germany does very well in some other sports, but they aren´t that popular, because there is only Soccer, Soccer and - well - Soccer.
The other reason is, that, especially, the socialist states aren´t/haven´t been keen on bringing out sports milionaires, like Bron, and the cons are too dumb.
