Dude comes out jacking up bad 3's and making lazy passes to set the tone

Then plays with a sense of urgency late in the 4th qtr by bullying people in the paint

It's mind-boggling that he settles so often for poor 3's when he can literally hit 60% of shots inside much easier over most defenders

I saw charlotte was on a b2b, with an extremely small roster and sadly my first thought was Mavs can still lose that game.

I have no interest in finishing the season. If they make a play in I might watch. Much rather lose out if the 10 spot is available.

If this team was worth a shit I think Kyrie would stay. No doubt he?s looking elsewhere.

Yep that is why I wasn't mad with Frank playing tonight

Having him and Bullock on the floor together tonight actually helped the defense better than other wing tandems they used

Neither guy is a great defender but it was the effort that helped

Kyrie is too little so I can't really blame him especially with him down there trying to fight P.J. Washington in the paint often.

Luka plays defense when he wants which is very seldom. If he played with the same effort half the game that he played with on that block shot he made the team would be much better off but Luka doesn't give a shit about defensive effort 90% of the game.

Powell and kleber is a shit fest inside defensively. You could get better rim protection from two traffic cones.

The last time we saw Mcgee he was battling Sabonis and surprisingly he defended him well and contested everything at the rim.

Dude will pick up fouls often but I can live with that as opposed to seeing the damn shit out of Powell and kleber inside the paint

I really don't understand Kidd's logic

He'll play those two guys together but he won't even try to play McGee and Wood together. At the very least the latter two would at least help your rebounding issues if played together and you'd probably get a few more block shots at rim with them

Hell you could even hide them in zone defense where all they have to do is clog up the middle together

The entire organization is fucked up right now starting with the owner

IMO, Kidd?s current thought process is, f?it, let?s just try to outscore people with Luka and Kyrie. At this point watching them together, they don?t mesh well. One needs to play uptempo and the other thrives slowing things down. We aren?t out scoring anyone without great defense from the other three players playing with them, IMO.

It?s time to try what things look like with Luka, Kyrie, two great defensive wings (Bullock and Green), and a true rim protector (McGee). This is simply common sense. Why it?s taken Kidd this long is confusing.

I Still don't understand this logic to tank with Luka and kyrie on the roster.

In fact I think it would be an embarrassing situation to have two of the top 10 players in the NBA and still not make the playoffs

FA's really haven't made Dallas a top choice to play

Luka will most likely get pissed and I doubt some rookie mid 1st round pick will change his mind. It'll be like Colin Sexton on draft night begging LeBron to stay

I just don't think tanking makes any sense unless your just trying to make the decisions easier for both Kyrie and Luka to want out

I honestly see both Kyrie and Wood bolting after this season because this team simply doesn't have the proper personnel to turn it around.

The FO completely screwed this thing up after not bringing in some type of defensive presence at the wing and center after the Kyrie trade which shouldn't have been too difficult to do. God, you make a deal to pair two offensive superstars and then completely ignore the defense.

I'm still pissed that Cuban and Kidd thought McGee was a starting caliber center on a contender and that Powell was their contingency plan.

But even bigger than that is Kidd actually never fully committed to just going offense thinking that guys like Maxi, Frank, Pinson, and Holiday would somehow save us on defense.

Kidd is a defensive coach with an offensive team. Doesn't work. We don't have to personnel to play defense and a coach that isn't smart enough to go all offense.

And then you watch the lakers make several moves to fill multiple needs at the deadline

They have been the best defensive team in the NBA after trade deadline and that pickup for Vanderbilt wasn't flashy but it was perfect for their defense

I felt like the mavs should have went after Bey and bamba right after the Kyrie move but them fools became satisfied with their boys in blue as usual

I think we have the offensive talent as reflected by the efficiency, but not having anyone that could box out or grab a rebound is what killed us.

Can't be serious starting Powell. If they had committed to McGee/Wood while also developing Hardy earlier, then it had a chance.

But nothing was going to overcome how bad Kidd has been this season.

This is James Harden v2.0 when Harden was with the Rockets. He demanded so much from that franchise while everyone in the organization was downright terrified of him leaving. It's kind of ironic that Luka today is functioning just like Harden did back in the day in that Luka is having his very best season statistically. But at the same time, his absolute worse season from an overall productivity measure towards the overall team objectives.

Luka could demand a trade this offseason but if he doesn't change his ways (attitude, resistance towards playing decent defense, fitness/conditioning, regimen/lifestyle outside of basketball, etc), then he'll just be a top-of-the-line statistic achieving little bitch for the next team that he plays for - just like he is for the Mavs at this time.

Dirk would never tell anyone he's unhappy or he's just out there playing like Luka did in his post game interview

Dirk played hard no matter of the situation and was a silent leader and professional

Dirk played on terrible rosters but he always found ways to put the damn team on his back and took it personal always thriving to prove critics wrong.
