I could never root for any team?Mavs or otherwise?below .500 to earn a play-in birth. I absolutely hate this whole play-in idea. It diminishes the regular season and muddies the water of the playoffs when we should be focusing on good teams that earned a right to be there. Ughhhhh.

And for those arguing in this thread or other threads that the players are competitors and want to win, regardless of the draft implications , I disagree. I suspect they know they don?t deserve to be in the playoffs with a losing record. They have to know they haven?t earned a right to compete for a championship. The play-in is stupid.

I felt for McGee and Morris in this game. Kidd/Cuban are saying they are not good enough to play when the games are meaningful and too good to play when the Mavs are supposed to lose. AND the group that finished the game must have played 1.5 quarters straight without a rest. They were totally gassed. This is an all time low for the Mavs organization. A total disgrace. I understand the tank, get the pick scenario but still this is a terrible message that further messes with the players' psyche. This was the cherry on the sundae for one of the worst seasons in Mavs history.

I've liked AJ Lawson ever since he played for our summer league and think this is a guy we can develop like DFS and Green.
He is a very good shooter and his quick leaping ability reminds of guys like Rodman and Marion.
Hope we can bring him back

100% agree. They had 82 games to compete harder. Losing to the worst team in the league (Charlotte) without their three best players means you don't deserve it.

This is the most important off-season in Mavs history. Nico will fail miserably or establish his legacy by September.

The fact is, I agree with the NBA. Cuban is getting more and more intolerable with his antics and poor decision-making. He should just hang out with his Shark Tank buddies and let Nico run the ship.

McGee was not as bad as some fans might think and I felt the mavs handled the situation with him terrible.

This dude performed well as a backup big on several finals team and your telling me he couldn't get at least equal minutes to Dwight Powell all year.

This organization watched Powell get destroyed by kevon Looney in last years wcf's and yet decided they were going live and die with him again this year.

The game vs Miami Powell was being abused by a 3rd string center who was never on a nba roster most the year and the mavs still refused to play Mcgee.

I personally wish the league does fine their ass for tanking and tbh I wouldn't even care if it cost them a draft pick on top of it.

The FO for this organization led by Cuban is a joke anyway

They only traded for kyrie in order to quiet down the outside noise they were getting.

Cuban don't really give a fuck and I think he truly just wants to build a team but keep it under the luxury tax and use Luka to keep the sell outs going

He failed Dirk after the title team years and he's doing the same approach with Luka

With few options, if any, to put a decent team around Luka, we may not have a choice at this point.

I'm beginning to think that 2024 pick could very well be better than this year's pick so the whole tanking strategy could really backfire on Cuban.

?24 pick is also protected. The reason we need to tank is we have limited options to add talent around Luka and Kyrie. Personally would like us to use the pick on Jarace Walker or Taylor Hendricks, then sign Naz Reid to be our five.

Naz Reid is a baller. I'd like to upgrade to a better starting 2 way wing over Green if we are sticking with Kyrie. Luka and Kyrie aren't going to be stopping anybody.

Hardy would be 6th man in that scenario -- assuming he comes back much stronger.

Could see the draft falling like this:

Wemby, Scoot, Miller, J. Walker, Amen T., T. Hendricks first six off the board... next four would be a toss up with possibilities including Cam Whitmore, Anthony Black, Ausar Thompson, Gradey Dick, and Cason Wallace.

My point is, there's a VERY good chance best player on the board at #10 is a 2 or a 3. In that scenario, I would 100% take Cason Wallace and look to move Josh Green/ THJ for a big.
