I know its early to start talking about next years draft, but there is NO DOUBT in my mind that kid will the the 1st or 2nd player taken. He is AWSOME. Best point guard in college, one of the best in the world already. And he can only get better....

Spread the word, reeds- Jason Williams, Chris Duhon, and Kid Dunleavy are the first three guards taken in next years draft... Jason Williams, Collegiate Player of the Year... Mike Dunleavy, first runner-up...

Come on Mavinator, I like Dunleavy, but I don't know if he's going to be that good. How good of a pro do you think Dunleavy will be?

Yeah I think Jason Williams is going to be something special for sure, but Dunleavy, I'm not sure about just yet.

Big Boy Laroux just used the EXACT phrase that I like to throw around in describing Kid Dunleavy... there's something to be said for 6-10 athletic off guards who can shoot lights out...

Williams has nice speed, and range. My only concern is he is a shoot first pass second type of point guard a la Stephon Marbury.

Dunleavy may be a good shooter but he is not stout **at all**. If you recall Danny Ferry was a good shooting big man at Duke too. And before Dunleavy becomes a good NBA player he'll need to be in the weightroom. He'll get pushed around in the NBA.

And um... even if he's a **rich** Mike Miller.... that's not saying a whole lot.

Ya'll sure Dunleavy will declare after this year?

He's good but he should at least start shaving before he hits the NBA. I left more whiskers in the sink today than he's yet to grow. He looks like a tall, 12-year-old version of his dad, with hair.

He can play, though.

Actually, no- something tells me Kid Dunleavy is going to follow Shane Battier's and Jason Williams's footsteps and graduate before declaring. And Duhon may wait till Williams has been gone for a year or two before he declares...

I feel bad for Duhon because he's on the same team as Williams. If he was on ANY other college team, he'd be a star, so he might wait until Williams leaves before he declares, so he could have his one year in the spot light.

dunleavy is so much more than a good shooter. he dribbles well, rebounds well, and is very athletic. There is nothing like a dunleavy put-back dunk. awesome!

He does need more meat on his bones, though.

That's what scares me about him at the next level. Can he last 82 games a season with his paper thin body?

actually, I dont feel Dunleavy is a great shooter (yet). I ocassionaly bet basketball, and I have watched DUKE play at least ten times last year. He is streaky, but not consistent at all from 18 feet or more. I know he will get better at that shot, but it actually wasnt that strong last year at all. Of course, the championship he lit it up, which will help his confidence alot starting the new season this year...JMHO

He can run the floor awsome for his size. He see's the whole court also, and will make a good pro someday..

Mark my words- Sacramento is going to regret trading Jason Williams for Mike Bibby. Everyone remember I said that... I'll be expecting congratulations in a few months for my clairvoyance...

Sorry Mav but I disagree... I think the addition of Bibby makes that team better. J Wil is exciting, but you would see him on the bench at the end of games last year... not where you would tink a "star" player would be.

as much as i hate to disagree with mavinator..i'm going to have to this time...j-will is a pain and i'm sure sac is very happy with the trade.

although, i'm not sure that mavinator wasn't being sarcastic

Absolutely no sarcasm. Pistol Jason was the sparkplug of the Sacramento offense- a team that relies on the fastbreak to score and conceal their poor-to-terrible defense was fortunate to have him. He is fast as lightning, and one of the best passers on the fastbreak in the league. Bibby is a far cry from Jason Williams- he is slower afoot and more cautious in his play-making. He is disliked by his teammates, he has no leadership skills, and he is extremely stat-conscious (possible explanation for his great stats but his pathetic win-loss record?). He's like a somewhat more talented Eisley- quite competent, but far from being a leader or being able to control the pace of a game like Jason Williams or Steve Nash. He already looks disappointing in the preseason, and he's going to single-handedly kill the vaunted Kings fastbreak that they LIVED on last season. He is NOT going to be an upgrade for a team like Sacramento. And Memphis seems ecstatic about having Pistol Jason around instead of Bibby.

Also, was it coincidence that Chris Webber's (and Sacramento's) career year was also Webber's contract year? I'd say there's a direct correlation. But Webber's contract year has come and gone now, and with it have gone Sacramento's glory days. Sactown did NOT improve this offseason, and they are NOT as good as the Mavericks anymore in any way, shape, or form...
