Bucher thinks the Mavs will be a player on Dwight Howard
http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/story...-dwight-howard
Possible destinations
Ric Bucher: There's the ideal spot for him, as I see it, and then there's the spot that has all the elements Howard supposedly desires: Another superstar. Big city. Warm weather.
I've long said that being a cornerstone of the Nets' rebirth in Brooklyn could earn Howard immortality for a much lower price than other places, but the latest I've heard is that New Jersey has slid to the bottom of his list, even behind the Lakers.
That makes it a battle between the Knicks and Mavericks, and I see Magic general manager Otis Smith, if forced to deal his star, doing it for a combination of young players such as Rod Beaubois, draft picks and, say, Tyson Chandler, instead of Stoudemire.
Best fit: Dallas Mavericks

I can't even imagine how lethal a combination of Dirk and Dwight would be.

Why not. The Romans used to hire the beaten German Tribes as mercenaries, but they had no clue what a salary-cap is...

it would be great for the immediate future but the best thing about this would be that after dirk retires, we'd still have a future that doesn't include years of futility and draft lotteries

Would be amazing. One day we will finally snatch a superstar in free agency, why not now?

I would say that things this good never happen the Mavericks, but hey, we just won the NBA championship. Make it happen, Mavs.

Dirk and Dwight would be double delightful in big D. Let's do our due diligence and get this deal done!

In the rare occasion Dirk misses a shot, Howard would get the rebound and either dunk it or pass it back to Dirk who wouldn't miss two in a row. Mavs might score on over 100% of their possessions with those two on the court together.

We'd have Batman & Superman!!
Only difference between them is that one fights crime using super-human abilities and the other fights crime using a stacked utility belt that has an endless array of tools in it. Which one is which?
Kidd
Caron
Marion
Dirk
Dwight
Terry
Haywood
Brewer
Cardinal

Who had 7 weeks on "time it takes for championship goodwill to crumble under the overwhelming force of Mavs-fan cynicism"? PM me for your prize.

It wasn't Favre, but as you surely noticed, it was Farve-inspired.

So this begs the question.
Who would you rather have?
Dwight or Deron?

I'd have J.J at starting PG if we have a dominant big man. It's not even close.

I don't get it... doesn't they play basketball indoors. What do it matter if it's warm weather, no one in their right mind would stay here in off season anyway.

There are plenty of professional athletes across all of the major sports that make the metroplex their summer/permanent home.

God, my head hurts trying to figure out how #3 is relevant to the conversation. Logic fail.

An actual conversation:
Quote:
A: "No lion likes carrots."
B: "Actually, some lions like carrots. I saw a family of lions eating carrots at the zoo."
A's response: "Yeah, but there are plenty of lions that don't like carrots."
