Dismal Night and the pot of Gold
After watching a pain staking game between our mavs and the only eastern conference contender at this point, the mavs need a change. They need dirty work players again. The hard work players they had last year. Watching the Pacers, I found out that the Pacers are the Gold Mine we need.
Dallas trades: PG Travis Best (3.2 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.9 apg in 13.1 minutes)
PF Antoine Walker (17.1 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 5.1 apg in 37.9 minutes)
Dallas Receives: PF Al Harrington (12.9 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 30.6 minutes) or
SF Ron Artest (17.7ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.8 apg in 37.1 minutes)
PG Jamaal Tinsley (6.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 4.2 apg in 22.1 minutes)
(Insert Throw in)
Indiana trades: PF Al Harrington (12.9 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 30.6 minutes) or
SF Ron Artest (17.7ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.8 apg in 37.1 minutes)
PG Jamaal Tinsley (6.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 4.2 apg in 22.1 minutes)
(Insert Throw in)
Indiana Receives: PG Travis Best (3.2 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.9 apg in 13.1 minutes)
PF Antoine Walker (17.1 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 5.1 apg in 37.9 minutes)
The trade would probably would be accepted considering Al Harrington is not happy with his role on the Pacers. Ron Artest doesn’t seem to get along with Rick Carlise. Bird loves Antoine Walker as a player. And Travis Best can be a good bargaining chip for the Pacers. Ron Artest and Al Harrington would bring defensiveness and some hard nosed street cred that the soft mavs haven’t been getting.

Good trade. Even though I would rather the Mavs keep Walker around for awhile(a Long while), I wouldn't be too upset if Walker went to the Pacers. They are an up-and-coming team that is Young and Walker could provide that Vocal Leadership there.

indiana will never trade artest
he has a favorable contract and is one of the best defensive players in the NBA

not to rag on the trade, but even as a mavs fan that trade is extremely lopsided against the pacers
maybe walker + pick for artest + throwin filler should be considered.
i hate mavs fastbreak defense. it sucks. anyone else see whenever its likea 2 on 2 fastbreak, the 2 mavs defenders BOTH go for the ballhandler, leaving on guy supremely wide open. perhaps artest would hustle back and save some of these

indiana wont trade artest. Perhaps you could place pollard in artest place and there would be chance of a deal occuring

No way in hell Indiana would consider this trade. They're not dealing Artest, and I don't think they're too interested in dealing Harrington.
With O'Neal, Artest, and Harrington, they have a rock solid frontcourt for the foreseeable future.

no no no no no no. They will not trade Tinsley, Oneal, Harrington or Artest.
never never never!
Pollard might be available. Maybe a few others but not those named above. Nowitzki wouldnt even pry Artest free so lets stop the talk about them on the trade board. Best is filler right now and Walker isnt worth much and definitely not enough to pry away any one of Artest, Harrington or Oneal.

Al harrington Doesn't like being on the Pacers and Ron Artest is still a controversial player and still somewhat of a loose cannon which does not work in a Rick Carlise system. Jamaal Tinsely plays on the fast break more than Half court which isn't a Rick Carlise system either. Larry Bird says he loves Walker which makes any player ,except O'Neal, expenable.
