Three questions:
1. Why does Phoenix do it?
2. Do you really think Nellie would play Jahidi White?
3. How many minutes could you count on out of White if Nellie did?

I like it. We don't take as big a hit statistically as some of the other trade ideas...and if it were to happen now, the permanent loss of Najera might mean Mamadou stays. Not an awe inspiring lineup, but not a too soft or too short one.

Nelly likes Jahidi. I remember him saying so about 2 years ago...
But Jahidi White does not make this team better... Fortson is more than capable of doing most anything Jahidi can do.

1. They have a 4/5 logjam after the NYK trade (Stoudamire, Voskul, McDyess, White, Lampe, etc.)
2. I don't know - but it he would probably get asm much p.t. as Najera/Delk...and it might open up some p.t. for Fortson.
3. He (and Delk) are both averaging around 15. I don't think you want any more than that from him. He's not "the answer..." but he is a relatively cheap, quick, temporary solution.
Any other questions?

I'd do the deal, but I don't know how much difference it'd really make.

It's not going to happen cuban likes Najera for the money that he brings. He told Najera 2 weeks ago that he would not trade him when Najera ask to be traded.
And this trade doesn't change a lot.
Cuban woul probably trade first AJ than trading a player that brings more than 6 mill. a year and a lot of mexican public.

Didn't Cubes tell NVE he wasn't trying to trade him?
Must have just been my imagination.

yeah but NVE didn't bring more than 5 mill. a year, and you would no get and offer of the same level for Najera.
And Nick never called and asked Cuban to be transfered and Najera just did.

RE: Simple Deal (Without Touching the Sweet Six)
i see this as a lateral move....in my mind, if they do a deal, it should involve one of the "sweet six" (not a good nic name by the way!) because trading one of them could actually improve this team: less scorers and more defenders.

Here's an even simpler deal...
Mavs send $5M donation to Zalgris
Mavs Sign Sabas

I'm almost positive that any buyout over the league limit is not allowed.

I dont think a buyout is necessary... I'm talking about goodwill money. Perhaps a donation to his town or the Lithuanian National Basketball team would be legal? Maybe not. Who knows. I say do whatever pleases Sabas.
True, Sabonis has said he will not play again in the NBA... WE CAN ONLY HOPE HE CHANGES HIS MIND!!!

None of what you mentioned is legal. The Wolves tried to circumvent the CBA and got busted. I would not like to see that happen to the Mavs.

RE: Simple Deal (Without Touching the Sweet Six)
If sabas wants to come back to the NBA he knows that we want him dearly and could please him financially..we dont need to coax him and risk the possible punishments by the CBA.

RE:Simple Deal (Without Touching the Sweet Six)
Everyone seems to agree that we need a center on our team; but will it increase our chances of winning if the lack of effort and consistency continues?

RE: Simple Deal (Without Touching the Sweet Six)
If you want to get better, you have to move at least one of the big 5. I'm sorry, but having the big 5 on the same team is as big of a problem as not having a healthy center.
