I have seen the word "bump" posted as a reply several times, and I have no clue what that means. Can someone help me out?

when you post something in a thread, it pushes or "bumps" the thread back up to the top. if people want more opinions or want to remind posters of an old thread, they can bump it back up to the top of the list of threads. hope my explanation makes sense.

i can't tell if you are being sarcastic with me or what. but i will give you the benefit of the doubt and try to explain it better.
ok, so the list of threads is in order of which one has been replied to most recently. those that have been replied to the most recently are at the top of the list, while those that haven't been replied to in awhile are farther down. say a thread hasn't been replied to in a while, but maybe it is of interest to read again or maybe a poster just wants people to look at the thread. this poster can post a reply in order to make that thread move back up to the top. in essence, the reply "bumps" the thread back up to the top of the list, hence the use of the word bump.

Chiwas is correct.
I bumped my knee on the table this morning and bumped my head on the door. That's one more different meaning [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
