AT&T is great, the way they handle things sometimes just gets to me.

The ATT bad network thing is certainly not a myth. I know several people with iphones that are constantly griping about it. As with all things of this nature, it's obviously not going to affect everyone.

My bigger issue would be the reality of being forced to use ATT. TMobile is cheaper and Verizon's 3G network is unbelievably larger and denser, so if you travel that's a big deal.

This random guy at the apple store who was trying to reserve his totally convinced me to go to the 32GB instead of the 16. He said he had been trying all morning and then tried the app too and it didn't work. He gave up and left...it was humorous to me that it worked for me right as he left.

I reserved mine through the AT&T website. In fact, it appears I accidentally reserved two. The first one didn't seem to go through when I clicked Complete My Order, but apparently it did, because they sent me an email today saying they'd canceled the second order, and the first one is listed as pending on my order status.

Oh, and 32GB is def the way to go. I can barely fit 1/8th of my music on my 16gb 3G. It's one of the reasons the thing is crapping out so bad--I think I have literally less than 40 megs of free space on there.

250 mins of video takes up about 21 GB of space on the new phone. So if you plan on taking many videos, 32GB is the way to go.

I don't remember any dropped calls on AT + T when I had a Motorola Q. I also had alot of luck with tethering. Dropped calls are something that happened after I got my 3GS. I think it's the phone. Still love the Iphone for its apps and media experience, and talking on the phone is overrated anyway.

I don't know if anyone here could help me with this but I'll explain anyway. About 8 pm last night i noticed that I didn't have 3G on my Iphone. There isn't anything there except the normal bars or whatever. I can still make/receive calls and I can still send/receive texts, I just can't access the internet. I've tried turning it on and off and nothing happens. This morning when I woke up I tried turning it off and on and it got suck on the apple logo so then I reset it using Itunes and I still can't use the internet. I hardly ever use wifi so I haven't tried that. I'm just curious if any of you smart people would know what the deal is.

so it stopped saying 3G on your phone? Sounds like it is stuck in EDGE or GPRS mode. We gotta figure out a way to reset it. I'd take it to the apple or AT&T store and have them reset it or something. Good luck!

My friend got his a day early and I already played with his new phone.

Phone is incredibly sexy. I compared the retina display to my 3G and the resolution blows my 3G out of the water. His phone doesn't have the antenna problem or any other problems people are reporting.

Apple said the white iPhone4 will be available the 2nd half of July so I will be getting mine then.

Lol. But actually there are a lot of people on several iPhone forums that have reported this issue and have been able to replicate it fairly easily. This might be a big headache for apple.

Here's an awesome thing: one of my roommates and I both preordered the first morning, about an hour apart. Both orders shipped Tuesday, due for delivery today. His came at 1pm today, mine didn't come at all.

I called Fedex, and they said that mine was subject to a "24 hour delay" due to thunderstorms somewhere. But his wasn't. Coming from the same place. Going to the same house.

Every single responsible person is going to put a cover on their iPhone...or whatever smart phone, really. So I am having a really hard time figuring out why people care what color it is, to be honest. "white iphone" was actually near the top of google trends for a couple of weeks recently. I mean...how trivial is that?

The Bumper cover doesn't really cover the entire phone. Its more of a border cover. You can almost see the entire phone. Plus, this time the white iPhone is completely white in the front, unlike the 3GS and older models where the front of the white model was black.

I don't use a case for mine. I like the sleek clean look for it. I only have a few cosmetic scratches in 2 years.

question on iOS 4.0.

I've got a 3GS. Once i updated it to iOS 4.0 i noticed the northeastern pointed arrow that appears when location services are being used. (up in the top right corner) I've also noticed my battery is getting drained quickly. Are programs/apps using my GPS in the background? Is that what is going on?

not sure... but you can make sure all the background apps are closed (double click home button, hold down on an app, press the - that comes up next to them) and see if that helps.

hmm okay thanks. I did that. (closed all the apps in the "multi task area". the NE point arrow was still there. I went into settings>general>location services and turned off all the apps in there that were using the GPS. Now the NE arrow is gone. I guess i'll have to see what happens with that.

update:

so i had 5 apps that had the location services enabled:

camera
maps
mark the spot
metro map
shazam

So i turned all of them off, then i noticed the NE arrow icon went away. I re-enabled the Camera and Maps, and the icon still was off. Once i went into the app, then arrow was back. Once i closed the app the arrow was gone. SO yes, something was using the GPS in the background. Looks like i got it off though. Hopefully this helps someone.

yeah i know. I'm going to troubleshoot those soon. I'll let you know. Also, my 'metro map" stopped working. It used to be just a map of the washington area metro..now it has iAds and it doesn't work. they botched it.
