What do you think of this scenario for the MAVS? I think this would be pretty good for all teams. It would also allow us to retain the big 3 and still keep Devin and Marquis.

Of course I assume we will resign Nash and Marquis.

I still think the Mavs best course of action is:

1. Trade Walker to Golden St. for a resigned Erick Dampier and Evan Eschmeyer. Hopefully, Golden St. wants Walker's expiring contract. Maybe they even think a former college coach can bring out the best of Walker. Getting rid of Esch helps them a ton. Dallas might even throw in a future first to make something happen. Golden St. might even be able to parlay Walker into something more valuable later.

2. Trade Erick Dampier, Jerry Stackhouse, Christian Laettner, Tony Delk, and Josh Howard to LA for Shaquille O'Neal and Devan George. Dallas trades away most of their depth, a top center, a great scorer, and a potential young star to LA for the most dominant player in the world. Of course, Dallas is left with nothing at the 3, so Devan George is included. It's for the best since he probably wouldn't want to be behind Stack and Howard in LA anyway. Here, he could be a nice role player.

It looks great on paper anyway. Dallas and LA come out looking very strong.
