Keepping the Faith Up-High
People, listen to me, even down 3 games to 1, We still have to support "OUR TEAM" It doesn't matter if the Peja's, Webber's, Bibby's are shooting good, lest Us all pray for the Mavs to play their best game of the year at Sacramento, and then come back home to redime themselves with Us FANS.......stop crying about how many times AW failed, about Dirk missing shots, or Nash failing in crunch time, let US all send positive energy to our guys, for they can win this important game on the road...let Us all pray for Jamison back (to heel quickly) for Eddies knees ( the same thing) for Nellie to used Fortson, Bradley the way he is supposed to used them, let Us PRAY to GOD so he can get into Nellie's head and coah them into the Championship..............
People make an echo of my voice. here , there and everywhere..............
We CAN WIN........WE CAN WIN......WE CAN WIN.......................

RE:Keepping the Faith Up-High
Amen Chelette. 3 games may seem like a lot, but it's only 3 games. 3 measly games... we strung together 9 wins in a row during the regular season, 3 wins here won't be hard to come by as long as we have confidence... confidence is everything.

Dirk will not let us down. He saves his best games for elimination games. The only question will be if his teammates will play well enough to help him out.

Too bad Nash missed that last shot....ok big deal, even Michael Jordan had a bad game too.....but..remember last year game 6 vs Spurs, No Dirk......but still our Guys manage to cam back and win that game........For the Greatness of GOD,, Mavs will win this next game........if you notice, I do not mention anything about game 6, why? because as the Bible reads, God create everything ONE DAY AT A TIME" so Mavs should win "ONE GAME AT A TIME"
Let US pray.........
Murphy chant with me.....
We Will Win
We Will Win
We Will Win

Well, it's a lot more fun than walking around all doom and gloom! Come on Murph, don't be so mean. I mean "mavstalk"? How cold!
Chelette, what's the origin of your screen name?
Is anyone else superstitous about speaking "doom and gloom" in reference to our team? Maybe we should hold off on it until after the fat lady sings?

RE:Keepping the Faith Up-High
I'll be the first to say "Amen Brotha" to Chelette.......
If you want proof of an amazing "against the odds" 3-1 comeback, just watch "Inside the NBA on TNT." On their set, they give you living proof that it can happen. On one side sits Charles Barkely, a member of the 1993 Western Conference Champion Suns. On the other sits Kenny Smith, a member of the Houston Rockets. In 1994, with the Suns defending their WC crown, Barkley's Suns overcame two 20 point second half deficits to put the Suns convinceingly ahead 3-1 over "Jet's" Rockets, who were the higher seed. Smith's Rockets, despite those crushing loses, miraculously came back to win the series in 7 games. Even worse, it happend to Barkely's Suns again the following year against the same team.
Today, when a team goes down 3-1 in a series, EJ, Smith, and Barkley always seem to remind us of that series as to say, "it aint over till its over." Since then the Pistons have done it to the Pacers and the Blazers almost did it to the Mavs last year, despite being the heavy underdog in that series.
In the Mavs case, this team lost games they could have easily won. If you look back, the Mavs are really a Finley jump-shot and a Nash floater away from having a 3-1 series lead. (Something Doug Collins brought up in Game 4) So we know the Mavs can compete and beat the Kings. With that in mind, who's to say that this team cant comeback and beat the Kings in this series. As long as this team can compete against the Kings, in my mind, they can beat them too.........
Its time to see who the true Maverick fans are here, your team's back is against the wall. Are you going to abandon them OR are you going to continue to beileve.......

RE:Keepping the Faith Up-High
Thanks NYCdog. Your post has me encouraged. Many 'real' Mavs fans are pretty despondent people when it comes to supporting their team though, so you might find us at least outwardly claiming we've lost all hope. You have to understand, many of us have lived and died many deaths with the mavs over the years - remember the ninties. On second thought, forget the ninties. Putting my hopes in Randy White still puts a bad taste in my mouth to this day.
Murph cracks me up.

RE: Keepping the Faith Up-High
Nellie can not show any lack of confidence in his team....he's got to remind them that they were up in game 2 and were up in game 4 and blew the crap out of the Kings in game 3....
The coaching staff needs to tell these guys they are the ones who are suppose to be up 3-1 and they can beat the Kings.....
That's one thing that ticks me off with Nellie...he has no respect for his players and knocks them down way too much.....

I just hope the mavs go out with a bang. Dirk lays 40 and nash scores 20. I would like to see the mavs shoot 45 percent at least on Thursday.

RE: Keepping the Faith Up-High
Whichever CCR lyrics is more applicable to this team... well.. you decide.
I see the bad moon arising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightnin’.
I see bad times today.
Don’t go around tonight,
Well, it’s bound to take your life,
There’s a bad moon on the rise.
I hear hurricanes ablowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.
Don’t go around tonight,
Well, it’s bound to take your life,
There’s a bad moon on the rise.
All right!
Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like we’re in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye.
Don’t go around tonight,
Well, it’s bound to take your life,
There’s a bad moon on the rise.
Don’t go around tonight,
Well, it’s bound to take your life,
There’s a bad moon on the rise.
Long as I remember the rain been comin’ down.
Clouds of myst’ry pourin’ confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, tryin’ to find the sun;
And I wonder, still I wonder, who’ll stop the rain.
I went down virginia, seekin’ shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable, I watched the tower grow.
Five year plans and new deals, wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder, still I wonder who’ll stop the rain.
Heard the singers playin’, how we cheered for more.
The crowd had rushed together, tryin’ to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pourin’, fallin’ on my ears.
And I wonder, still I wonder who’ll stop the rain.

Only 7 teams in 152 series have ever come back from a 3-1 deficit.
Fire Nellie yesterday!

I haven't cruised the board in a couple days, because I've been in a state of Mavs catatonia, but let me just say one thing:
The farmer who feeds the chicken every morning is the same one who one day cuts his head off.
Lesson: beware thinking that just because something has happened the same way a bunch of times in a row, it will happen that way again. Get bent, Doc Bio. Mavs with three in a row!!!

RE:Keepping the Faith Up-High
I'm all for hope, but when the coach and the team don't seem to believe its possible, why should the fans? All this stuff I read about doom and gloom in the locker room after game 4 literally makes me sick. I keep picturing these grown men hanging their heads and moping around. Give me a break! They should be extremely mad at themselves for the opportunities they let pass by! I'd much rather read about people throwing crap around the locker room and getting in each others' faces than to read about how the locker room mood was like that of a "funeral". That doesn't give me much hope. When players get mad, they tend to fight. When players hang their heads, they tend to shrivel up and die.

Dirk is the only one that is moping now.....and to some extent Nash who admits about not being focused on the game.
It's really an extension of the coaching staff's weakness as leaders and motivators....it's all leaking down to the players and it's not a good sign.

I would expect the team to be down directly after their last game.
The Mavs have fought hard the entire series. I don't expect them to roll over and die next game..even if they didn't throw things around the locker room after game 4.
