Dallas/Golden State/Philadelphia - 3 Team Deal
With Steve Nash leaving the Mavericks hanging out to dry...the Mavs need a veteran PG to run this team for the next few years...before handing over the keys to Devin Harris. Here's my proposal:
Dallas trades Antoine Walker, Christian Laettner, cash, and a future 1st round pick
Dallas receives Eric Snow, Erick Dampier, Clifford Robinson, and Evan Eschmeyer
Philadelphia trades Eric Snow and Glenn Robinson
Philadelphia receives Antoine Walker
Golden State trades Eric Dampier, Clifford Robinson, and Evan Eschmeyer
Golden State receives Christian Laettner, Glenn Robinson, future 1st round pick, and cash
Why does Dallas do it?
I like Eric Snow. Is he flashy like Nash? No. But he's a solid player...who plays perimeter defense. He has a nice assist/TO ratio. Dampier fills a huge need at center. Robinson is a nice role player. Eschmeyer will team up with TAW on the IR list.
Why does Philly do it?
They want to rebuild. Snow has 5 years left on his contract (the last year being a Team Option). Walker would be a nice fit in Jim O' Brien's system (former Boston Celtics coach). And yes...Walker's expiring contract is pretty appealing as well.
Why does Golden State do it?
Well...they get something for nothing. From Golden State's point of view...people can say...let Dampier walk...big deal. That's all well and good...but in this deal...they get rid of 2 bad contracts (Eschmeyer and Robinson)...two guys that are not a part of their future. They inherit 2 expiring contracts along with cash and a future 1st round draft pick. Heck...I would love to get something like that for Nash.
Dallas' roster:
PF Nowitski Najera
SF Finley Howard
C Dampier Robinson
PG Snow Harris
SG Daniels Stackhouse
Bradley, Podkolzine, Steffanson, Benga, and Fortson round out the bench.
Your thoughts???

That's a pretty reasonable deal, I think.

we can't trade another 1st round draft pic, cause of the Utah deal.

Yes we can FineCubanCigar...it just has to be a few years from now...not next year or the year after...but 2007. In this deal...we get our center in Dampier...we get a veteran PG in Snow (the 5 year contract does concern me...although it's not a huge amount...like 4 million a year)...and we get a veteran backup PF/C in Robinson.

I would do this instantly. Think about it. For a player that doesn't really fit here and a player that most people dont care much about and a pick, the Mavs get a vet PG, a pretty good starting center, and a role player. I think the Mavs would have to be crazy not to pull the trigger on this deal.

It looks like we'd still have the Mantis and Fortson
Cliff Robinson if I remember him correctly is a Forward and is somewhat small for a 4. Can play a little 3.
This is a good trade, PULL THE TRIGGER!

RE:Dallas/Golden State/Philadelphia - 3 Team Deal
two big risks to the deal. Dampier is 30 only two years younger then shaq and he figured it out last year, or he was playing for his next contract. Eric Snow kind of underwhelms me, I think we are better off with the young guards we have.
But if you think Dampier is the soulution to the center equation then pull the trigger if not. Houston we have a problem Dampier is a one year wonder.

RE:Dallas/Golden State/Philadelphia - 3 Team Deal
Biggest problem with this deal is taking 4 players back for 2. We've already got 16--we can't get to 18. The best fix would be to keep the No. 1 pick and deal Howard instead. Or, maybe, put in both Howard and Harris and take back No. 1s from both Philly (who gets Howard) and Golden State (who gets Harris).
