Default Yi desperately wants out...you interested?

http://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/story/10244411

SHANGHAI, China -- Yi Jianlian's Chinese agent says he's talking to other teams about a possible trade away from Milwaukee.

Yi, the Bucks' top pick, has refused to talk about the prospect of playing for Milwaukee after he was picked sixth overall in last week's NBA draft.

However, Yi's agent Zhao Gang was quoted as telling the official China Daily newspaper that he was already in contact with other franchises that have expressed an interest in the 19-year-old power forward.

"His representatives and I won't sit here and do nothing just because he was picked by Milwaukee," Zhao was quoted as saying.

"We are considering Yi's future at the Bucks and are looking at trade possibilities," Zhao said.

Agent Dan Fegan pushed for Yi to go to a city with a heavy Asian influence. According to census data, Milwaukee has a little more than 1,200 Chinese residents.

Yi, who is in Dallas with the China national team for two exhibition games, courted controversy before the draft when access to his workouts was tightly restricted to just a few teams.

There have even been questions about his true age, with some reports putting his birth year as early as 1984, partly because sports authorities are known to report their players as younger than they actually are to keep them eligible for junior competitions.

Yi's apparent disappointment with being picked by Milwaukee contrasted strikingly with fellow China national team member Sun Yue's delight at his selection by the Los Angeles Lakers. Sun was the 40th player selected.

Terry and Dampier for

Yi, Gadzuric, and Simmons
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dampier and Terry don't have great contracts...but nonetheless are still productive players. Gadzuric and Simmons have terrible contracts who have been injury prone in the past. Would the Bucks consider this trade in the sense that they probably will never get fair value for Yi, they unload two horrendous contracts, and finally for the simple fact they will probably not entice a major free agent to come to Milwaukee? If Yi plans to hold out...the Bucks don't exactly have a bargaining position.

Your thoughts?

Terry, Bucknor and Fazekas for Yi, Simmons, and SNT Boykins

I don't think Mil would want Damp.

Mavs should put in some expiring contracts or some un-used subs in the deal along with terry for Yi. Something like Croshere, Buckner and Terry for Yi and some other bad contracted player??

No.

Why would we want someone that won't be ready to contribute for a couple years?

We have our Yi, his name is Fazekas. Fazekas is more proven, well-groomed, you know what you're getting, and he has a position. With Yi you have almost no idea what he is going to do in the NBA. Fazekas may not have as much potential as Yi, but that's the main reason Yi was picked for his potential. On pure talent though, why would I take Yi over Nick? Athleticism? Probably the only reason. Not worth it.

How is Fazekas our Yi? Reading the game reports of people who were at the china game it seems that Yi and Fazekas are just the opposite. Fazekas is a developed player with almost no upside and no athletic ability. Yi is 7"0 agile and athletic not really ready to contribute, but he might have alot of upside. If you can get him for just a couple bad contracts why not? If you need to give up proven players that can help next year it´s probably not worth the gamble. Dirk won´t get younger.
