spurs will close it out in six because they seem to like doing that (all their other series were finished in 6).

classic tolbert quotes:
"the nets' shooting has been as sour as a gallon of milk that expires june 18...1994."
"[the shooting percentages for the nets] are up there with gasoline and mexican food as the all-time leading vomit inducers."
hahaha...at least the announcers can entertain me if the basketball doesn't!

Spurs should pull away easily in the second half. 100-91.

You need that someone else's support to get 8 blocks.

No no, not today. Spurs were simply the better team.
They actually made something happen on the offensive end too in the 4th quarter.
That´s when they easily pulled away. TD was all world, he didn´t need any help.

This four quarter reminded me of game 6 of us against the spurs. Didn't they do a 19-0 run on us as well?

Spurs had 34 in the 4th and we had 9, in that game.

i would actually like to see kidd go to san antonio because that lessens the chance of them getting some other FA that i think would help them more. probably not going to happen, but...

that was an all too familiar, all too painful 4th quarter of game 6... i mean the similarities... jackson hitting threes, nets just choking offensively... it made me really sad b/c it brought back that painful memory

The difference here is that Kerr wasn't as effective w/ the 3-pointers against the Nets as he was against us.

For my 4000th post...

Congrats to the Spurs, in particular David Robinson. Great career. One of my favorite all-time players; one of the best athletes I've ever watched in the NBA. Glad he was able to go out in a befitting manner.

Duncan was phenomenal. He looked absolutely dominant, and yet the Spurs' win was a team effort.

Will be interesting to see what moves the Spurs make in the off-season, but whether they take J.O'Neal or J.Kidd, chances look good that they may be even better next year. Perhaps not as strong defensively with the loss of Robinson, but they may be more potent offensively. They will most likely get one superstar, and are in a good position to attract a quality complementary player as well.

In brief, if the Mavs are going to improve next year, I sure hope Nellie and Cuban have an executable plan to improve the Mavericks frontcourt and depth.
