Default PGT: 3rd quarter strikes again

Wow... Mavs had the game in control and gave it away.

Haywood really battled in the OT but nothing he can do there. And Dirk with a boneheaded play and his pass to Marion before wasn't the smartest around!

Kidd needs to come back ASAP. Nothing good will ever happen with any guard combo of West/Carter Roddy/Carter West/Jet, you name it.

Is it possible to create some kind of spreadsheet/chart featuring our 3rd quarter numbers to figure out what is really happening during our 3rd quarters?

I was hoping Carlisle would have called a TO earlier in the 3rd when team put 4 straight jumpers to open the qtr. Sometimes you have to make a statement early to get the teams attention.

Maybe they should take to smoking butts in the locker room at the half.

Too much has to go perfect for us to beat the Lakers this year with how our role players have played all year

Another no-show from Odom, Roddy can't hit a three to save his life, Terry got cocky when he was wide open for the three and i'm officially done with Carter as a starter!

I like our chances against the lakers. Who's gonna beat us?? Kobe's shooting around 40% lately and taking 30% of their shots. Dirk can guard Gasol and Haywood can guard Bynum. Nobody on the Lakers can guard Dirk.

Not a gimmie matchup but I'd take it. They could win or lose to anybody though.

Gasol has eaten Dirk alive in the 3 games. Pau has to be shooting close 60% in the 3 games.

Haywood was just fine - Adridge is just too damn good. Dirk wouldn't have done any better.

Well let's see:

Lakers will pretty much play a quasi zone against the Mavs. They will crowd Dirk and shade underneath from Haywood's man. Mar4ion's man will pretty much leave him free.

And defensively who guards Sessions? The Mavs are a lot worse this year against LA than they were last year.

Last year they ccould put Stevenson on Kobe... then switch Marion off on him. And Kidd could guard Artrst because Artest is in looneyville and not really a threat anymore. Dirk could stay home on Gasol. And Haywood stay home on Bynum.

Now? No way. Marion has to guard Kobe the whole game or he will go off. And they now have a quick penetrating PG which Kidd can't guard.

And offernsively I forgot to mention Barea's penetration and Peja's shooting that created space.

Completely disagree. Why did the lakers beat us three times already? They have too much size.

And Gasol can guard Dirk fairly well. He showed it this season. Gasol outplayed Dirk one game and was on par with him another. Gasol is really good. I dislike him, but he is an amazing player. We would have to hope he plays a horrible playoff series like last season.

Also, with the addition of Sessions, this lakers team is looking great.

Honestly, the only thing stopping the lakers are themselves. Just got to hope Bynum destroys that team within.

Wow,... you should actually watch some basketball, before making such stupid statements. Dirk is very underrated 1 on 1. Dirk knows all the offensive moves and fakes, because he has been there done that, for much longer than Haywood and co. Ask Duncan, Gasol and co. how Dirk's D tastes...

Aldridge ate Haywood alive in the last 6+ games. Haywood is great under the basket where he can use his lenght but not 20ft away, where one needs to be smart. LA made one move and he was wide open. Meanwhile Wood was confused...

Yeah, because LA played the whole night in the post, maybe watch the game.
And, Dirk needs the energy on Offense... So, think before writing!

Talking to you makes no sense as everyone knows after your great statementes this year, so done.

I'd want SA in the first round. We've completely changed roles for the past two years. We're the team that waits until the playoffs to turn the "switch" on, while the Spurs are the team that cruises through the regular season with a dominating record, then getting owned in the playoffs.

Lakers beat the Mavs last year in the regular season. Doesn't matter. It's only 3 games in a weird season.

Mavs are gonna have a hard time against anybody this year in the playoffs but I like their chances against the lakers better than any other option. Haywood is one of the best Bynum defenders in the league. Dirk is a good Pau defender. Marion is probably the best Kobe defender (it was a mistake for Carlisle to put Stevenson against him last year).

You can't call people names when you never specified that you were talking about the last possession - it's your fault that you can't communicate properly.

This... Aldridge is so "Dirk-esque"... If The Mavs had to trade Dirk for any one player, I believe I would pick LaMarcus Aldridge... What a combination of inside/outside offense! Haywood did as well as can be expected, nobody's shutting down 12......

It's just too bad Kidd wasn't playing, I think we win pretty easy if he had...
