PGT: 0-2 Dirk'n'scrubs lose, refs get enough facetime to start their own IMDb pages
That was a horribly-officiated game, both ways - the NBA has an awful product this season.

Thanks for the loss Jet and Vince.
Good f*cking riddance when they're gone.

second quarter, Vince attempts a pointless reverse layup and misses. Mavs get the rebound, and Jet attempts a contested 28 footer for no reason and misses. OKC gets out on the break and scores.
fourth quarter, six minutes left - Delonte and Terry are trying to guard Westbrook and Durant on the weakside. Fisher walks to the corner and shoots a wide open three because Carter and Marion completely forget he exists because they are so worried about Terry not being able to guard Durant.
fourth quarter, final minute, three seconds left on the shot clock. Ball inbounds to Durant going into the corner who Terry promptly fouls out of bounds for no reason.
....
After 7/25, after leaving Chalmers wide open in the corner, after not closing out on Nash, after disappearing against San Antonio in 2010, and after tonight, I am really ready to move on after this season.

The Mavs had every opportunity to win this game just like they did game 1. Just once again lacking in crunch time execution and discipline. We saw the same thing in the regular season, certainly not a fluke.

How the f*ck didn't we split it? Could have won either game. Before the series, I thought if we'd lose, we'd not lose it in such a heartbreaking fashion. Holy f*cking sh*t, we could've been up 2-0...

so heartbreaking, both games 1 and 2. But i still think we're gonna advance to semi finals. Blaming others wont solve our problems but we definitely got our positives tonight.

we'd pull a lead and then jack up shots until we were down and then we'd try again.
Not a way to win.
We can (and have to) do better next year

think about it this way, look how good we played on the road, no way okc plays this good on road, no way, we will win both games in Dallas. Calling it.

Just stop. Please. We are losing the series. Anyone who thinks we are winning both in Dallas is wrong. We might just get swept. Every game is going to be close and if we can't/haven't performed in late game situations we are done.
First its, "we will win a game on the road for sure". Now its, "we are going to win both in Dallas". Come on guys. You have WAY TOO much hope for this team. They suck in late game situations.

Did everything to win those two games. Played better than many expert expected. Bad luck or bad shots at the end made the difference. Dirk couldn't deliver. That open three could have won us the game. Don't think the Thunder are the better team. Hope the home crowd can give us the needed push to win the next two games.
Go Mavs!

well.... should be 1-1 seeing as both games came down to the wire.
Kidd shot way to many times off the dribble.... he shoots maybe 15% on threes when his feet arent set... he should never do that unless he has time to stop and set his feet and still stay wide open.
anywho... dont think we will win this series but okc has a lot of stupid players with a ton of talent. I cant wait to see dirk with deron next year.. with a real scoring threat and hopefully an upgrade at center (kaman perhaps)

You know me? No you don't! I'm not going to question your credentials as a mavs fan since I've never met you. So if you don't have anything that brings something worth while, just shut up.
I'm calling it how it is. Majority of you have been wrong so far saying we are going to beat the Thunder. This team doesn't have it. I've been saying it since after the all-star break.

VC did a lot of good things for the team tonight.
That was a very tough loss, especially considering what happened in game 1.
The emotional part of me tells me that the refs made a horrible call there on JET with 50 secs left and could have altered the outcome.
The rational part of me that Dirk needs to hit that 3 (or Terry needs to hit something).
I think it's all of the above.

It stinks that we've lost two games on the road by a combined four points. What's almost as bad is that we lost both games right at crunch time when one would expect our veterans to be able to use their experience and take advantage of it. On paper, we almost couldn't have asked for better scenarios than to have both games come down to the final minute.
While it'll be tough to come back from an 0-2 deficit, this series has been way too close so far to not at least remain hopeful.

We can talk about the miscues until we are blue in the face, but Westbrook is having his way with Kidd/West/Terry with his jumper. May not be a popular opinion, but I would consider putting Roddy on Westbrook. His jumper is very clockwork with the timing...1..2..3..stop and pop. Roddy had it down pat in the last meeting and got a couple of blocks frustrating Russell and I believe he shot horrible the rest of the game. They have to do something to get him out of rhythm.

Very disappointing loss, but considering the way the Mavs faltered putting games away during the regular season, I'm disappointed but not surprised. The Mavs certainly don't play like a veteran team when it comes to closing out games. Heck, they couldn't even close out the 1st quarter. THAT was a massacre.

Not devastated. Lost both games. Definitely had our chances. If Kidd 3 goes in game 1 to go up 10 we win. If Dirk in goes in game 2 to go up 4 we win. Both were wide open looks. We have been right there. Anyone saying this series is over didn't watch our run last year. Time to go home, take care of business get it back to 2-2 and strap up!
Anyone who is giving up or saying this series is over didn't watch last years playoffs because if you did you would know giving up at any point isn't an option. So quit your bitching get behind the ball club for game 3 and LETS GO! All OKC did was what they were supposed to do like every team that has home court. They didn't do anything out of the norm. Come on now! Cut the bullshit!

Don't care, won championship.
But seriously, the free pass I gave Cuban and the MBT after the championship is gone.
Better do something this offseason or Cuban will forever go down as an idiot for not resigning that team.

Mavericks have been in worse situations and have overcome them. I like our chances at home and Scott brooks is still the worst coach in the league. I just don't see the thunder playing well on the road. I don't know why but I just don't

btw... i think this is going at least to 6... but tbh we have to many positions that are only nba average (pg, sg, c).
Marion/carter are above average and dirk is obviously in the top 2 or 3 on PF but i dont think this will be enough to repeat.
But really - this year is essentially a transitional year and we should be thankful we made the playoffs and are making it interesting in the games as a 7 seed vs a 2 seed.
So... im simply enjoying the games... even if losing at the buzzer really makes it difficult.

I think we didn't take advantage of the foul situation in the third. They had no fouls to give for most of the quarter and they had lot of players in foul trouble. Should have posted up more.

I refuse to be the fair weather fan who says get rid of Jet, because his game WILL come back, so we need to keep him. But for real, VC has been painfully inconsistent since day 1. Lets clear up cap room this summer for players that are willing to help a team make a good playoff run.

Oh, it just hurts. So many chances to get this one. Got plenty of stops, but why, oh why did we stop penetrating? Outside shots were not falling at all, but we got (almost) easy buckets inside, or FTs, through all of 3. and 4. quarter. Terry awful, Carter good on D, but no factor offensively. West, I thought, was good. He penetrated and got to the rim. Should have had him on the floor through the 4th.
Man this hurts. Its 7 in the morning here, and no reward. Gotta take a valium for the next game, cus this is too much to handle.
