Agreed. They honestly outplayed England for most of the 1st half. Second half was much more in England's favor, but over the course of the game, it was pretty evenly played. A draw is a fair result.

The English group could turn interesting. Given Germany wins its group, the opponent might be either England or the USA. And if Both teams win their games the goals scored will be important.
Next games tomorrow

Haha, I am in England and boy are they bummed.
Still, no soccer fever like a Brazilian soccer fever.

Hell, probably the 10 best german goalkeepers would play for the England team

hahahahahaha
What would be soccer without british goalkeepers and penalty shootouts?

Good start to a great tournament.
I'm rooting for two teams...France and USA.
France played a rather boring and dull game, but secured the draw, giving themselves at least an opportunity to advance. They will need to step it up, but not sure they have the talent to rise to the challenge.
Team USA played well and also enjoyed a bit of good fortune with some slipper hands. By the way, it was nice to see Dallas Product Clint Dempsey scoring that goal. Kudos to the development of Club Soccer in Dallas!!!

I just wish Klose wouldn´t have scored. Now we are stuck with him. Funny how he got all that praise, from the coach, media, fans when he should have clearly scored at least two more. He´s a good passer and all and fits the system, but he needs to be way more efficient. Cacau would have probably scored 3 or 4 goals in that game.
Everything else was of course brilliant. I felt good as soon as I learned Löw wouldn´t play Trochowski (thank god, how could he even think about it??). Özil, Schweini, Müller, Khedira and Lahm were all very strong today, and I liked the overall strucure and organization very much. Also with 91,4 % completed passes we had the 4th highest percentage ever in a world cup game since there are stats for that (1966).

Yeah I know, Clara Szalantzy. They were never married though. She drove the car in the crash where Drazen died and she survived.

Just discovered ESPN's streaming video coverage of World Cup matches. Best thing since sliced bread.

New Zealand just tied up the game with Slovakai with a crossed in header, perfectly placed low and into the far post at the 93:00 mark. Only 3 minutes of stoppage. What a goal. Group F has had all draws now in group play.
Upcoming: Portugal and Ivory Coast. Looking forward to seeing how Ronaldo performs.

Just curious, should we get an official 2010 WC thread going?

Me don't like Werder being in the same Group as Inter.

Diego with one of the worse betrayals ever. It could only have been worse if he had gone to Munich.

Ideologies clash as Barcelona and Real Madrid prepare for La Liga duel
Barcelona will again look to rely on graduates of their academy to repel the threat of Real Madrid in the coming La Liga season
A tiny stone farmhouse conquered the world, according to Joan Laporta. "Barça," he insisted after Spain's success in South Africa, "won the World Cup. It's just that they were wearing the wrong shirts". The outgoing president of FC Barcelona, a vociferous Catalan nationalist, provocateur and campaigner, now embarked upon a bid for the presidency of the Catalan Generalitat, Laporta would say that. But here's the thing: he may just have a bit of a point.
Spain's coach, Vicente del Bosque, is from Salamanca and played for Real Madrid, while the captain, Iker Casillas, was born in the Spanish capital and still does. So does Sergio Ramos, who is from Seville, and Xabi Alonso, from the Basque country. Joan Capdevila is Catalan but plays for Villarreal. Counting the Asturias-born David Villa as a Barcelona player before he had been unveiled at the Camp Nou is pushing it. But still, six of the starting XI that defeated Holland were Barcelona players.
