Adrian Wojnarowski: Atlanta has traded guard Allen Crabbe to Minnesota for PG Jeff Teague and Treveon Graham, league sources tell ESPN. Hawks get a backup for Trae Young.

I wish this was a sign that Minny was blowing it up. I really want R-Cov, but seems like a pretty lateral move to improve their swing depth and dump an unhappy player.

I wonder how long before Kat asks out? I keep hearing rumors about them trying to trade for DAngelo who is terrible. Wonder if that appeases him.

I thought I read somewhere recently that KAT and Deangelo are good buddies. It’s only a matter of time before KAT requests to be traded.

Supposedly. They will probably do whatever they can to appease him. You’d have to think he’d get sick of losing soon.

Man, Warriors almost had Denver. They are blowing it though, and Michael Porter Jr is playing great. He might finally be turning a corner if he can stay healthy.

I think D'Angelo Russell might be a worse defender than James Harden.

Yeah I was interested when Brooklyn got Kyrie, but watching him play? It's cringeworthy.

Blazers traded Baze and two second round picks for Ariza and tax relief to the tune of 12m. Now we at least know the market for our Lee expiring. At worst, we should get some picks and a borderline contributor. That I assuming there are other teams looking to skirt some tax. GS? Miami?

[Caron Butler] I don't think players want to sign up for this run track (the Rockets).
People run and sprint the floor for opportunities and when you're just a spacer and just
standing there with limited possessions, it's not something you want to be a part of."

Lol Thunder beating the Rockets again. They might even be a better team.

Rockets have lost four in a row and have lost 5 of 6 overall.
Harden was 1-17 last night

I was hyped to watch Zion tonight, he looked pretty uncomfortable there the first three quarters but those 4 mins in the 4th were awesome (17 pts straight, 4/4 from 3P). He was being left open but you still have to make the shots.
ESPN, TNT, etc are going to be all over that.

Maybe not this season, but New Orleans is going to be another team competing for and probably getting one of those 8 playoff spots in the Western Conference.

NOLA doesn’t worry me. They lack a superstar. I don’t think Zion is it. He’s not really a player you run plays for. He’s more like Matrix where his points come in transition or put backs. I know he went 4-4 from 3 last night, but his shot was really flat. He also needs to lose about 25 lbs.

I’m not disagreeing just for the sake of disagreeing. In my opinion if NOLA makes the playoffs the Lakers will sweep them. They are a more complete team, with more size, veterans that know how to win, and simply more talented. NOLA is a good 2-3 years away from making any noise if that team stays together.

Least we aren’t the Knicks
Last night they:
1) Embarrassed themselves with low effort
2) lost badly
3) got into a fight
4) had their fans chant "sell the team"
5) piped in loud music to overpower the chants

NBA set to release revised 2020-21 salary and luxury tax projections
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...ax-projections
Quote:
The loss of the league's China-driven revenue has caused many front-office executives to tell ESPN that they've been preparing for the possibility that the original 2020-21 cap projection of $116 million could drop as far as $113 million.

I know it's only $3m, but I wonder how much this is gong to impact certain teams this offseason... We could see a buyer's market, which is interesting considering how few quality FAs there are -- I wouldn't be surprised if more big names moved via trade than signings.

Why not just reset the 4th quarter score, and make it the first team to 24? Or even better don’t change it and just let the players compete. There’s other ways to honor Kobe than changing the game format. Any bets that Dwight wears a Kobe jersey in the dunk contest?
In an effort to make the All-Star Game more competitive, the NBA is making dramatic changes to this year’s game that will include an ode to Kobe Bryant.
The NBA announced on Thursday that each quarter will consist of a mini-game played for charity before an untimed final quarter that will determine the winner.
The second- and third-quarter scores will be reset to 0-0. Each team will then start the fourth quarter with a tally of its combined scoring from the first three quarters, and they will play to a target score.
Target score a tribute to Kobe
The target score this year will be the highest-scoring team’s total score through three quarters plus 24 points — a nod to Bryant’s jersey number in the wake of his death in a helicopter crash on Sunday.
So if the leading team has 100 points through three quarters, the first team to 124 points will win.
Bryant was an 18-time All-Star and four-time All-Star Game MVP.
“We spent a lot of time considering the right target number to use for the fourth quarter,” NBA president for league operations Byron Spruell told the Associated Press. “Through the events of this week it became clear to us that the only appropriate number for this season’s All-Star Game is 24.”
The NBA is looking to make the All-Star game more competitive while incorporating and ode to Kobe Bryant. (Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images)

Playground-style scoring
The target score format is similar to the Elam Ending used in The Basketball Tournament, the annual five-on-five tournament with a winner-take-all $2 million prize.
In those games, the clock is turned off with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, and teams play to the leading team’s score plus seven points, giving the ending of the game more of a playground feel.
$500K for charity
Each team will have designated charities based in Chicago, the host city of the All-Star Game. Each team’s captain — LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo — will choose the charity. The winner of each of the first three quarters will earn $100,000 for its charity, according to the report. If there’s a tie, the $100,000 will roll over to the next quarter.
The winner of the game will earn $200,000 for its charity, adding up to $500,000 at stake. If the losing team gets swept through all three quarters, its designated charity is guaranteed $100,000.
The changes are being made on a one-year trial.

Meh, I'll probably skip the All-Star game like I have in the past and watch the Mavs player highlights on YouTube... These things mean so little that the Pro Bowl got completely buried by Kobe's death. I never even saw a final score.

I watched about 3 plays of the pro bowl. When I saw a player get wrapped up and they blew the play dead I turned it off. They’d be better off playing a competitive game of flag football. The all star game is at least exciting to watch players throw down some sick dunks.

Not enough to worry about. Had it been more I expected any big names players to be moved via trade which is another reason I hope we don’t trade GS 2nd rnd pick for Iggy. Could be a decent asset in the offseason if they can’t get anyone before the TDL.

Shams Charania: Sources: 2020 NBA All-Star reserves: East: Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Ben Simmons, Khris Middleton, Jayson Tatum, Bam Adebayo, Domas Sabonis West: Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell, Nikola Jokic, Rudy Gobert, Brandon Ingram, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul –
Some of the big names who didn’t make the All-Star team: the Los Angeles Clippers’ Paul George, Washington’s Bradley Beal, San Antonio’s DeMar DeRozan, Chicago’s Zach LaVine and Phoenix’s Devin Booker. – via Yahoo! Sports
Beal is averaging 28/6/4 and didn’t make the AS team. Wow

Who do you replace to make room for Beal? Middleton?

It’s tough because his supporting cast is so bad. Beal has better numbers than Lowry, Simmons, and Middleton. His team just isn’t producing wins. Unfortunately wins factor into the equation.

The new "fans need to act like model citizens now" is a product of modern SJW culture. It's pathetic.
