3 unprotected 1sts and a pick swap is hardly nothing. More than what Jrue Holiday was traded for I think.

Yeah that's a long way from nothing. That's actually a pretty good haul for a player of his caliber. We've seen superstars traded for less.

Doesn't seem to be the case.
Mike Finger: Can report that Gregg Popovich gave his official blessing to the Murray trade and ? while nothing is guaranteed, obviously ? he?s completely on board with coaching a bunch of kids next season. As a team source just told me, he?s excited, ?like he?s back at Pomona-Pitzer.?

Miles Bridges arrested on felony domestic violence, in LA of all places. That's...not great timing for the kid as he seeks max from Charlotte. Interested in how that plays out, def not jumping to the guilty before proven innocent side, but the Hornets might have to...

Speaking via ESPN, Windhorst said Monday: ?Let?s take a look at Miles Bridges. He?s not being offered, from what I?m told, a max contract from the Charlotte Hornets right now. So, he?s going to go out into the market place, starting on Thursday or Friday, and see if he can get that offer from somewhere else.? 2 days ago ? via Karl Rasmussen @ Clutch Points
Well doesn?t look like Charlotte is giving him a max deal. After his current timeline I don?t think anyone will. 20/7 guy which is by far his best season. Does everything think they deserve a max deal after they ball out in a contract year?

One good year (contract)
Beat a woman until she was hospitalized and fled the scene
Took selfies on instagram with a joint and a cup of lean
I?d say there?s a good chance he starts free agency with one voicemail and it?s his lawyer

Blake Griffin is headed back to L.A. but it's not confirmed which L.A. team.
Jake Fischer on Blake Griffin: It sounds like he?s not going back to Brooklyn. It sounds like he?s gonna go to Los Angeles. The Clippers would be pretty weird, funny, silly outcome with the whole exit there. So I mean, the Lakers would make more sense in that regard. But I honestly I can?t tell you which one seems more likely.

Ugh, KD requests a trade and lists Suns and Heats as preferred destinations. Here's hoping he stays in the East.

I think KD will be noticeably diminished, and Kyrie is perpetual injury case and locker-room headache. Both guys seem like malcontents by nature. I think they will be one of those teams that shows flashes of brilliance, even dominance, but always disappoints in the end, and then breaks up after anywhere from 2-4 years. (KD and Kyrie can both opt out in 2023.)

Man, this I had no idea how right I was. I figured the team would fail, but I didn't imagine it would blow up this spectacularly. I never could have imagined Kyrie sitting out half the season over anti-vaxx bullshit, or trading for James Harden and then turning around and trading Harden for Ben Simmons, who looks like will probably never even play a single game with either KD or Kyrie.

Nicely done spiral.
Feels like we say this every year, but the west is going to be an absolute blood bath with Portland and New Orleans coming up. If the Lakers get Kyrie we might see a 50 win 7/8 seed.

What good is a late 1st round pick? Teams give up late 1st rounders. You can trade up and get a early 2nd or late 1st rounder. I just don't value late 1st rounders.

People thought the picks the Rockets got for Harden when traded to the Nets would be late 1st rounders. Looks like those might be lottery picks after recent news of KD and Irving wanting out. That?s great you don?t value late 1st rounders, but apparently teams do.

Yeah, 1st rounders are valuable, even late ones. A single first round pick might not be that valuable, but they do add up. If you give up multiple picks, it has a cumulative effect. You're (probably) not getting stars with those picks, but good scouting can net you good role players, and you definitely need those good young players on their cheap rookie contracts to stay competitive.

If only Russ were averse to shooting threes instead of shamelessly chucking them.

[NY Post] Blazers owner Jody Allen has refused to talk to Damian Lillard, who reportedly has had issues with the way the team is being run, the team source claimed. ?Damian wanted to sit down and she didn?t return his call. Then he tried to email her. Eventually she just never responded??

Bobby Marks: Here is the Lillard contract breakdown: Current contract 22-23: $42.5M 23-24: $45.6M 24-25: $48.8M Extension* 25-26: $58.5M 26-27: $63.3M (P) The extension numbers could be adjusted based on the salary cap in 2025-26. It cannot exceed 35% of the cap for that season. ? via Twitter BobbyMarks42
Absolutely ridiculous how much they get paid to play a game. Can you imagine making $63 million in one year?

Dame says he wants to win, and proceeds to sign a huge contract so the team can?t sign anyone else.

I think Beal is just as nuts. Loyalty costs you a quarter billion when he hasn't been healthy for basically three seasons.

Adrian Wojnarowski: ESPN Sources: NBA?s Board of Governors is expected on Tuesday to approve the Play-In Tournament as a regular part of future league seasons. The Play-In had been voted on a year-to-year basis in past two seasons, but support exists to turn it into annual element of NBA structure. ? via Twitter wojespn

JD Shaw: Richard Jefferson will officiate the second quarter of tonight?s Knicks-Blazers summer league game after attending daily NBA Summer League Officiating Meetings in Las Vegas, NBA says.
Richard Jefferson: Why do this? 1. Tremendous amount of knowledge about our game that I?ve learned sitting in classes with the best refs in the world 2.I do this because not many people would dare put themselves in this position. The more info I have the more informed I am as a broadcaster ? via Twitter
This is kind of cool to see. Curious to see how he calls a game. Good for him for doing this as a way to become a better broadcaster.

Who if anyone should make the HOF from this list?
I think only Howard has a possible case, and Derozan only if he's the star player on a championship team moving forward.
1. Dwight Howard
2. Rajon Rondo
3. Blake Griffin
4. Lamarcus Aldridge
5. Demar Derozan
6. Andre Iguodala
7. Al Horford

Since it?s the ?basketball HOF? and not the ?NBA HOF? I think Howard and Iggy make it for sure. Horford might since he won 2x NCAA Championships.
